Making a shoulder dart straight gown for my client

Hello everyone

It's a beautiful Monday morning @needleworkmonday and I'm glad to be back here again after awhile. I hope you all are doing great in your endeavours.

Today, I will be sharing the making of this beautiful gown with you, at first, I decided to make a normal dart on the dress but on a second, I decided to make it look different from others that I have been making, I used a trouser length and half of this plain fabric to achieve this.

All my client needed was a straight gown without and design on it, just a plain straight gown but I decided to make it look great than just a simple one by adding a shoulder dart to it instead of a normal common dart.

First I drafted out the upper bodice with the shoulder dart on a brown paper with my client's measurement, after which the lower part was cut out o the the main fabric.

The upper bodice was sewn together with the lower part of the gown and a have a sleeveless gown

And finally a cut out a normal sleeve of 12" and sew it to the gown to make a complete dress.
