Invasive Species
We are taught from childhood that native plants are weeds and need to be eradicated. All the while filling the garden with foreign invasive species bought from Lowes or Walmart. Invasive species are all around. As a society we need to be learning about the environment we live in. Everyone should be taking part in keeping their environment clean and protected. Protection for the environment is needed from more then just the invasive species of plants, that cause interruption in the food chain among other things. Big oil companies are also destroying our local environments as they build new pipelines throughout the US and other parts of the world.
Wasted Resources
Multiple natural fresh waterways have been permanently damaged by these pipe lines. It is important for us as a society to stand up to these large corporations who destroy our planet for profit. There are many people on the front line of these pipelines fighting to stop them but we need more people to take notice, and take action. You can help simply by becoming more informed, taking honorable actions and recycling and limiting wasted resources.
