Stone house area near Lukovit (Bulgaria 🇧🇬)

Hello friends of the beautiful nature:). Today I will show you another beautiful place in the area of my city. This place is known among locals as the Stone House area. Here my friend Acho has created another oasis in nature.

About 25-30 years ago there was a large municipal fountain with huge troughs, where shepherds could lead herds of animals to drink water. At that time, animals were still kept in Lukovit and there were many cows, but now the livestock in the town is much weaker. These large herds are no more, the fountain has become unusable and has been neglected and destroyed by nature over the years. There are still remnants of it, but everything is overgrown with dense vegetation and is not visible. There was also a large wildlife kennel nearby, which was also destroyed and looted during the transition years. There was an abundance of wild boar, mouflon, deer and roe deer here, of which there is now almost nothing left.

In the period between 2000-2005, I do not remember exactly, Acho decided to buy a plot of land in the area of a stone house. Literally from scratch in a real impassable jungle, at the cost of a lot of work, he managed to transform this place into a truly beautiful and picturesque paradise in the woods. A beautiful and stone house was built, which would be a symbol and correspond to the name of the whole area.

There is also a lake created by Acho, in which we have planted many beautiful white and red water lilies. We had also released about 20 wild ducks into the lake. At the moment the lake is almost dry due to a problem and clogging of the water pipe from which water is drawn. After the winter season, the place was quite neglected, and today we came here with a mission to clean the whole area and try to solve the problem with the water.

Acho invited to help the professional florist and botanist from Pleven, Mr. Doychin Vladimirov, with whose help and advice we will try to save the water lilies that have been left dry without water. Doychin Vladimirov will collect and preserve the surviving water lilies on his farm near Pleven, and will take care of them until we eliminate the water problem and refill the lake.

We also brought a large excavator to help clean the lake of mud and fallen dry trees.

15-20 years ago we planted over 10 weeping willows here. Over the years, the trees grew huge, and later the climate did not spare them and eventually dried up. At the moment, no matter how sad my friend Plamen and I are, we have to remove them, because they are already dangerous because they break and fall large and heavy branches. Later, however, we will plant new and fresh willows in their place.

At lunch we take a short break☺

The Stone House is literally for public use. There is never a lock here, no guard or anything like that. Everyone is free and is welcome here to have a picnic and enjoy nature. The place is very popular among the locals and on weekends is very visited by dozens of people.
There are also two stone bungalows where everyone can spend the night freely.

This is for today from me friends. I promise to show you the place again soon, when the lake will be full of water and life will boil here again.

I wish everyone a pleasant and successful day😃!
