A Wonderful Hiking to the Toc Tien Waterfall

Hoa Vang is a small rural district about 40 kilometers from the southwest region of Da Nang. It has recently become a popular destination for ecotourism because it offers visitors a variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking and biking. Visitors to Hoa Vang can enjoy scenic views of the mountains and traditional villages while traveling through the area. I came here for a summer camping and hiking a few times (with my friends @whynotcamp, @dodovietnam, and @crazy-bee), and I was pleasantly surprised when I visited the area. There are great views from the top of the hill where I can see everything down there and the lush forest.

How could we get here? As soon as we left the city center, we drove to Ba Na Hill (as the waterfall is about 2 km from there) and then we found somewhere to park the motorcycles. The idea of walking to the waterfall sounds simple but not really. According to Google Maps, it's about 2 kilometers long. And with the sun shining brightly on our back, it seem a difficult trip ahead 😃 The majority of the day I thought it would be a good idea to walk around in the woods because it would be a little bit cooler. It was really hot outside but there were some shades when we walked into the forest. There were many pebbles in the way of the water. But you will want to be careful when crossing the stream because there are no other rocks or logs to help you balance, and it is very easy to trip over these pebbles.

When we reach the summit, it's not just about the view- there's also a sense of accomplishment in being able to see so far and the landscape of the scenery is stunning. We all jumped into the pool right away. There were many things to explore and it feels like we were playing on an endless forest floor. The water is clean and refreshing. The air is cooler up at our location and it's so nice not to be sticky anymore. The hiking was challenging but brought us closer together as a group. After the trip, my friends @whynotcamp and @crazy-bee joined me on the journey on Hive 🤣

The water name is Toc Tien and it means fairy hair in English. It is said that fairies used to visit this place once a while and were enchanted by the scenery. In their return to heaven, they left their long hair crossed over the nine stones, creating the waterfall that is legendary and majestic. It's fun but in Viet Nam, you will hear a story behind the name of each place you visit :)

Toc Tien Waterfall is, undoubtedly, an excellent destination for anyone who is looking to immerse themselves in nature and relax in a quiet environment. I love being somewhere like this surrounded by the lush forest and listening to the sounds of nature and murmuring waterfalls. They are soothing, beautiful, and perfect for relaxing. It's a time where I can unwind, have a talk and enjoy some snacks with my friends. Plus it's cool to see the amazing scenery that surrounds us. This creates a wonderful harmony between cliffs and streams. The tranquility of this setting is spectacular and is one of the most special features of this trail.

The waterfall offers a refreshing dip, and we really enjoyed its natural beauty. From the outside walkway, you can view the cascading waterfall at different angles to get the perfect picture. When you go inside you will find lush plants, trees, and wildlife surrounding waterfalls flowing through caves. This place is perfect for those who love nature or need a break from the daily grind of work.

We all loved it and had a great day on the top of the mountain. It was breathtaking. The views from the top were absolutely stunning and there was no sound to be heard except for our own breathing and the beautiful sound of nature. We all loved how tranquil it was up there. Our eyes feasted on the fresh air and the view never got old - not even for a minute! The plan was for us to return after this, but unfortunately, this was one of my last trips during the summer here in Da Nang before we went under lockdown for months. I'm glad that I made it.

If you plan to visit Da Nang and are looking for somewhere to enjoy the majestic nature, this waterfall is highly recommended. Da Nang is a lovely coastal city that you can find anything you need. A long river runs through the city, and if you follow this river it takes you to all of the great attractions in town like mountains, lakes, and beaches.

This is my entry for the Amazing nature Contest- Nov #02
