These Persistent Trees

How did it happen that the trees settled and grew on this narrow stone spit? Perhaps their seeds were brought by the wind? It was supposed to happen in the fall. The sky was blocked by clouds, rain drops bounced off the stones, and the wind tilted the trees and broke the branches. The strongest gust of wind brought the seeds of trees from the hill to this rocky ridge. Or did everything happen differently? The sky was covered with clouds, the rain was pouring all day long, the wind raised high waves and these waves rolled over the stone cape. The next wave brought not only water, but also the seeds of the tree, the wave splashed away, and the trees remained.
