Sunday is also a favorite day for rest, but as a day for an escape to nature!
This week, I arranged with my sister to visit the Mesić monastery...
The Mesić Monastery is an oasis of peace, and here are some historical facts...
According to the knowledge of historian K. Fesler, G. Fejer i Piča, was built in the eleventh century by the followers of St. Cyril and Methodius.
The first layer of frescoes dates from the 11th-12th century, the second layer from the 13th-14th century when it was restored by the priest-monk Arsenija.
The third layer originates from 1493-1502. when the monastery was rebuilt by Seti Despot Jovan Branković and his mother Angelina!
In further history, it was lit two or three more times, during wars, and was renewed several times. With the last renovation in 2009, it got this look!
The women's monastery, which is well maintained and is visited a lot.
My sister and I like to visit this monastery, which exudes tranquility and is tucked away at the foot of the Vršac mountains...
I especially love when they bring out their cacti and succulents, and turn the staircase into a garden that is beautiful. And only when everything blooms, it's a pleasure to walk through this yard.🥰
Thank you so much for visiting my blog, and I hope you enjoyed this walk….
❤️
Have a great day! ☀️🌸
