The Legend of the Sunflower

There are many legends behind the birth of sunflowers, I want to tell you about the love I suffered.

Clizia was a young nymph in love with the sun god, following him with her eyes every day as she drove the fire chariot. Apollo, flattered by so much love, at first gave in to the girl, but after seducing her, he abandoned her.

He is even said to have chosen a sister. Clizia was so desperate that she cried motionless in the field for nine whole days as she continued to watch the sun god travel in his carriages....

Legend has it that the nymph's body slowly stiffened, turning into a thin but strong stem, her feet stuck in the ground while her hair turned yellow. Clizia has become a sunflower who continues to follow her love....

In the language of flowers and plants, the sunflower symbolizes sunlight, liveliness and joy, which is why those who give it want to express a feeling of joy or want to bow to a chosen person, presenting it full of life.❤️🌻
