I noticed some more ducks at the lake.

These mallards can probably have multiple batches of ducks per year.

Right nearby the baby ducks I see some juvenile ducks that were hatched earlier this year.

You can still see some of their duckling feathers as their blue feathering is coming into full coloring. Right now they still hang out as a family together but eventually they will disperse and move on to different lakes.

The ducks like to eat algae and snails at this lake. There are definitely plenty of snails for them to eat here.

I got a little too close to the juvenile ducks and they all left the shore and went out to the middle of the lake.

This guy almost has all his blue feathers grown in. Just a bit spotty around the eyes and beak.

While I was taking photos of the ducks I noticed a couple tiny little painted turtles barely larger than a quarter. I suspect if a duck was fast enough it could easily gulp one of these guys down.

Fortunately the ducks were out in the middle of the lake so the baby turtles get to live another day.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
