My entry to Amazing Nature’s Thematic Challenge. Check here for more information if you would like to take part and join the fun.

Theme for challenge

WILDLIFE TRACKER

After reading about the new challenge put forth by @bucipuci I was wondering if I could find rabbit or bird tracks in my photo file.

Luck would have it I didn’t have to look far for tracks...just out the window. There was a snow storm last night and the little red squirrel left his tracks on the deck this morning.

The title photo was taken this morning after the snowstorm. It shows the snow the little squirrel came through to get to the deck.

The open deck has a roof but the snow blowing inside made the red squirrel tracks visible.

It seems the stray cat I named Friday has disappeared. Friday was a feral cat and was terribly afraid of anyone but would come and eat the food I left, only after I went back into the house.

I knew Friday was gone when the little red squirrel started to once again make a daily run to the back deck to check for any leftover food from the birds.

The amazing animals have their own information highway for the squirrel knew he would be prey for a cat and never came near the house when Friday was hanging around the deck.

These following jumble of squirrel tracks are from when he scurried around in the snow on the ground looking for any buried food.

Animals are amazing and know where to find food. I saw the squirrel dig a frozen apple peeling out of the snow.

The little red squirrel happy to find a piece of apple from another time.

Another view of the snow this morning.
