We headed off to a local farmer's to get some produce when I spied flocks of geese and ducks settling in a pond by the road.
I knew the geese to be skiddish so I took the first picture through the van window. Sure enough they started moving away from the shore when we stopped nearby.

The pond was by a grain field and there were flocks of ducks and geese coming and going from it.

At the far side of the pond many of the geese came to rest in the shallow waters, a couple were stretching their wings

There were a few sections in the pond where the geese and ducks gathered I mostly saw Canada Geese, some gadwall ducks and coots.

I couldn't believe how busy that pond was and on the other side of the road there was more pond but no ducks or geese on it. There was a horse and some ponies grazing in the marsh grasses though.

I could have stayed for hours photographing the waterfowl with different flocks coming in but alas my husband wanted to get home and I was happy to get as many photos as I did. That is the part of Fall I like with the abundance of birds and waterfowl flocking together.
Back home in the yard there were flocks of little birds in the trees. I had been wondering about the robin if they had migrated yet for I hadn't seen any for awhile but I guess they were just gathering together for there was a flock of them feeding on the seeds and berries in our yard.
I love the photo I caught of the robin eating mountain ash berries, seeing the orange breasted robin among the colorful orange mountain ash berries makes me smile!

Also in the mountain ash tree was a warbler flitting around the tree and you could hear it's cheerful song.

I wasn't sure what type of warbler it was until I saw the orange spot on it's head. With that marking it looked like a orange-crowned warbler.

One last thing to share with you is a photo of the moon which had been up in the morning sky greeting me.
