Happiness and fear, can one balance the two?
The weather announcements brought happiness and fear to many areas in our province. The happiness because our dams will be filled with much drinking water and the fear that many low lying townships will be flooded again.
They say that one can balance the two, but I don't agree.
In my previous post, I showed the period before the clouds arrived. Now they seriously started rolling in.
Such beauty and yet also so dangerous.
I took this one just above our roof.
This one was taken towards the western side.
Here was a scene at the southern end
But the main cloud feed passed across the sun.
In my opinion, happiness and fear can only be balanced if something is done about it. The fear of flooding is always present and we get very severe storms over here, but why are there no flooding prevention efforts, such as moats, water flow directional channels or any other methods being implemented.
Well, I am not the only one that got wet.
To lose all of of one's possessions in a flood will never result in happiness when the news of yet another storm arrives.
Only when something realistic gets done about it can one balance the two, as there will always be risks in life.
