Can you see the moon in this photo?
When I took the photo above I wanted to capture the late afternoon color mix on the mountains and I didn't even see the moon. But when I opened the photo on my PC,I saw the moon in the middle, right at the top of the photo.
Now for some sun halos!
The following 3 photos will show you the effect of icicles in the air that the sun shines through!
They are called Sun Halos!
"Halo (from Greek ἅλως, halōs) is the name for a family of optical phenomena produced by light (typically from the Sun or Moon) interacting with ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere. Halos can have many forms, ranging from colored or white rings to arcs and spots in the sky".
"Many of these appear near the Sun or Moon, but others occur elsewhere or even in the opposite part of the sky. Among the best known halo types are the circular halo (properly called the 22° halo), light pillars, and sun dogs, but many others occur; some are fairly common while others are (extremely) rare".

These are our afternoon mountains!
The person in the photo is my wife taking our little dog for a walk.
Finally just an evening sundown photo!
We are having some wet weather here in the Western Cape Province and it might be the last of the winter rainy season, as we are now entering the early summer stage.
Like always my eyes are on the sky and it hardly ever offers up any disappointments.
The mountains sing their own song of strength and the clouds here look like they are setting a table cloth on the mountains for the lunch of the sun halo visitors!
