THE BIGGEST SNAKE WE FOUND ALL DAY

This one looks freshly born.

This snake is a DeKay's Brownsnake, not to be confused with the Brown Snake from Australia. This one is a small nonvenomous species that we encounter regularly, and it is also a newborn. Unlike some other snake species, the DeKay's Brownsnake gives live birth, so it is not an egg-layer. One of the Little-Peppers found this one, and then brought it into the house to show the rest of us. At some point during the process, they lost it! Yes, in the house! Thankfully, Pinkie-Pepper was able to find it and let it go in the garden. Also thankfully, I got in a brief photo shoot with it to share. Enjoy!
