I want to talk about our vegetation in the north central part of the blessed West African countries named Nigeria. Nigeria is a country with diverse vegetation due to variation in climate conditions in the country. In the core northern part of the country we have desert-like vegetation. Now in the southern part, there is this rain forest that produces tall and thick forest trees in those areas. We have a kind of savannah in the central middle belt
Vegetation is an essential necessity for healthy living. We need green plants around us. They help in cleansing the atmosphere of toxic gaseous components. There has been a cry from the authorities that the cutting down of trees should be minimized. This is to avoid environmental hazards caused by excessive clearing of the green habitats.
The picture I am submitting is taken from my community. The trees in the picture are the dominant in our community. It is called dogoyaro in our area. (I don't know the scientific or English name. 😃 Please forgive me for that.)
The trees easily grow and flourish all year round. It does very well in the savanna vegetation. It has a very useful medicinal adventure. It contains alkaloids and so it's very bitter. We cook the leaves natively to treat malaria and other ailments.
