PHOTO QUEST: Yellow for Morning Hot Spring

This is my entry to @qurator's Photo Quest Contest. For more information about that contest, you can check out this post.

The photo above is that of the hot spring that can be found in Mornang located in Barlig, Mountain Province.

You can see how nature changed the colors of the rocks and stones to orange, gold and yellow and every hue in between those.

Before going into that any further, let's talk about the greens and other colors first.

This is the sign that indicates the location of Mornang Waterfalls and Hot Spring. It states that it takes 30 minutes to go down before you reach the waterfalls. However, that still depends on how fast you walk for we have reached the place less than that.

There is also a sing stating the penalty of stealing from Mother Nature which is negligible if you ask me, a mere PHP300.00 (USD 5.45).

The path to the waterfalls and springs is teeming with lush vegetation. We were fortunate though that the path was just cleared that time. It's like the carpet has been rolled for us to walk on. I felt privilege already.

Moss, ferns, fungi and some flowers made the walk that pleasant in addition to the lined up trees and the welcoming party of birds.

There is #alwaysaflower that one can encounter when you are in the forest just like this pretty little red thing and some yellow too.

As we got closer the falls, the path got steeper the rest of the way. It was quite a challenge going back up the path. I say that it was a hard level that one. It's also not that safe going down because it is slippery and you have to rely on whatever you can grab on to hopefully stop you in case you slipped.

The small pool on and the hut can be seen on the left. There were locals there who were just leaving when we arrived. On the right you can see two waterfalls. The one with orange and yellow hues is the hot spring and there is a waterfall next to it which is cold water. That's just one of the waterfalls you see here. We then headed to the biggest of them all.

I took this photo when we reached the waterfalls. The path is filled with logs that served as pathway and the rest are rocks that you have to climb filled with overgrowth and vegetation. Everything is slippery so one had to be sure with each step.

Although the waterfall is not that big and tall and the volume of water is not a lot, it is still a wonder to behold. If you notice, one can stand behind it but the bottom of the waterfalls is filled with dead branches and rocks which can be fatal. There is no pool that you can swim in to. We bravely but very carefully stood under the waterfalls for photos. It was a refreshingly shocking cold water that we did enjoy.

Here comes the parade of yellows. I took these photos as we were going down.

I then took more photos near the small pool. I just like how the contrast of dominantly green and yellows can be seen here. The texture of rocks even add more interest to the overall landscape.

We then spent the rest of our time in the pool. Pipes from the cold water and hot water fills the pool. With that, you can control the temperature of the water. It was so relaxing to be there. The sound of water and nature can lull you to sleep as you soak yourself in the pool of hot water.

We left all too soon disappointingly but it had to be. If ever I will go back to Barlig, I will definitely revisit Mornang waterfalls and hot spring.

This is another #SublimeSunday hostedy by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday by @ace108. I almost forgot all about this. I was browsing my gallery when I came across these photos so I decided to post it.
