"Swimming in the Lake"
Finally, very hot summer weather has come to Nova Scotia, Canada. However, I already smell the autumn smell. This is just my sense but every year, I smell autumn even though it's still hot summer. I think that's because of the sky, the color of the air seems different from the middle of summer or something like that.
Anyway, I want to enjoy this short summer. I wrote about the lake story the other day. It takes about 5 minutes to get to this lake by car from my house. After walking about 200m from the parking lot, there is the lake. It is a very quiet place. I rarely bump into someone and usually, nobody is there. There are some popular swimming spots in my area but I like to go here.
It is pretty deep once I start swimming. The water is pretty clear and clean. I like to swim in the lake more than in the ocean. The ocean is also fun because I can find some shells. However, if I just want to swim, the lake is easier. I saw a lady in the water in late autumn. It was a very cold day but she looked happy in the water. I heard autumn water is not so cold compared to early spring water. Also, jumping into cold water is very healthy for our body function I think.
"湖水浴”
やっとカナダのノバスコシア州にも暑い夏がやってきました。でも、もう秋のにおいがします。わたしの勝手な感覚ですが、毎年暑い夏なのにも関わらず、秋のにおいがする瞬間があります。多分空や空気感が違うのだと思います。
短い夏を楽しみたいものです。この湖については先日少し書きました。家から車で約５分くらいのところにあります。駐車場から２００メートルくらい歩くとこの湖に着きます。静かなところです。たいてい誰もいませんが、たまに誰かに会うことがあります。他にも泳げる人気の場所はたくさんありますが、わたしはここが気に入っています。
泳ぎ出すとけっこう深いです。水は透明できれいです。海よりも湖で泳ぐ方が好きです。海は貝をとるなど楽しいことがありますが、泳ぐだけなら湖が簡単でいいです。以前秋が深まった頃にひとりで泳いでいる女性を見かけたことがあります。結構寒い日でしたが、その女性は気持ちよさそうに泳いでいました。秋の水は春の水よりも暖かいと聞いたことがあります。それに冷たい水に浸かるのは、健康にもいいようです。
The water is clean and clear. I usually put my stuff here before swimming.
水は澄んできれいです。この辺りにいつも荷物を置きます。
After about a few minutes of walking from the parking lot, I see this view from the hiking trail.
駐車場から歩いて数分でこの景色が見えてきます。
How many more times can I swim this year?
今年はあと何回泳げるでしょうか。
