I have always had a love for leaves on trees and plants not only for there natural beauty but also for there colors , shapes and textures when , i notice a unusual leaf on a tree or plant , even a fallen leaf my instincts are to look closer at this leaf and observe it's characteristics and beauty.
And the other question , i have always asked myself apart from there beauty is what is the purpose of these leaves on a trees and plants well there main purpose or function is to supply the tree or plant with food.
You made wonder how and where a leaf get's food from to feed these trees or plants the scientific term for this is call a Photosynthesis a metabolic process , in simple terms the leaves collect light energy form the sun converting it to a chemical energy through the leave's cells thus producing the food for the plants and trees , now who thought that leaves had cells.
Not only do leaves have cells to produce food for the trees and plants but leaves also have pores and the purpose of the leafs having pores is so they can breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out the oxygen so us humans can breathe in that purified clean air that those leaves have produced for us , is why so important that we don't cut down the forest not only for us but for all the living animals on this planet.
Leaves also release excess water, much like we sweat are we sure it's not tiny humans living in these leaves 😆
When leaves fall to the ground looking dry and dead it doesn't mean they are done for , no they eventually break down and provide nutrients for the soil, helping the ecosystem prepare for more plants to grow and creating a layer that helps the ground absorb water.
Let's not forget how many benefits a leaf has to humans in producing many medicines and health products is why they call it "The Leaf of Life".
And many living things like many species of insects depend on leaves they eat them and live in them.
