Hola mis queridos amigos de Hive y de la comunidad Amazing Nature, como sabrán algunos de ustedes, a mí me encanta mucho la naturaleza y todo lo que en ella habita, así que ésta es mi entrada al increíble concurso de mi amigo @adalger, y el día de hoy me vuelvo a unir a su iniciativa y aporto mi granito de arena. Este post tratará nuevamente sobre botánica. O mejor dicho trata de la hermosa naturaleza. Así que empecemos!!!
The Archira has as scientific name Canna indica, it belongs to the family of the cannáceas. This plant is known in my country as Capacho. It usually lives more than 2 years and can grow up to 3 meters high.
La Archira tiene como nombre científico Canna indica, es perteneciente a la familia de las cannáceas. Esta planta es conocida en mi país como Capacho. Suele vivir más de 2 años y llega a medir hasta los 3 metros de altura.
A curious and incredible fact is: From the Archira they get the starch that is used in baking and this is done in the country of Colombia.
Un dato curioso e increíble es: De la Archira sacan el almidón que es utilizado en la repostería y esto lo hacen en el país de Colombia.
There are 2 types of Archira, the first is characterized by green leaves and white rhizomes. The second has purple leaves and rhizomes of a reddish or violet color. As you will see in the photo I have the Archira with green leaves.
Existen 2 tipos de Archira, la primera se caracteriza por tener las hojas verdes y unas rizomas de color blanco. La segunda tiene unas hojas de color morado y sus rizomas de un color rojizo o violeta. Como verán en la foto yo tengo la Archira con hojas verdes.
Fun fact: This plant has up to 26 different names all over the planet earth.
Dato curioso: Esta planta tienes hasta 26 nombres diferentes en todo el planeta tierra.
This beautiful plant has wide leaves with a striking green color, its flowers are 4.5 to 7.5 cm long and 0.3 to 0.5 cm wide, this will depend on the type of Archira you have at home. The fruits that this plant has are in the form of a capsule covered with mini sticky hairs, they measure from 1.5 to 3 cm in length and inside this mini capsule has several black seeds, and so hard that to break it you would need to crush it with a stone or hammer. I tell you this because one day I wanted to break one by stepping on it with the heel of my foot and when I did it remained intact but I came out with a blow from such a small seed. Hahahahahaha.
Esta hermosa planta tiene unas hojas anchas con un color verde llamativo, sus flores llegan a medir de largo 4,5 hasta 7,5 cm y de ancho 0,3 hasta 0,5 cm, esto dependerá del tipo de Archira que tengas en tu casa. Los frutos que tiene esta planta son en forma de capsula cubierta con mini pelitos pegajosos, llegan a medir de 1,5 hasta 3 cm de longitud y por dentro de esta mini capsula tiene varias semillas negras, y tan duras que para romperla necesitarías aplastarla con una piedra o martillo. Te lo digo porque un día quise romper una pisando una con el talón de mi pie y cuando lo hice quedo intacta pero yo salí con un golpe de una semilla tan pequeña. Jajajajaja.
Curious fact: The Archira rhizome is consumed raw and grated in salads, it can also be eaten fried and roasted but cut in not so thin slices.
Dato curioso: El rizoma de la Archira se le consume crudo y rallado en la ensalada, también se puede comer frito y asado pero cortado en rodajas no tan finas.
The Archira is a plant that is attacked by pests such as aphids, scale insects, stem borers or known as the butterfly caterpillar, the Plusia, wireworms and white worms. And to remove these pests that affect this beautiful plant we must create our own insecticide which is made by boiling the husks of the cambur, then let it stand until cool and spray with a spray our Archira, and no insect will damage them again, but if you ask yourself, does this harm the plant, well I tell you no, rather, it will only keep away the insects that damage the plants in our garden.
La Archira es una planta que es atacada por plagas como los Pulgones, Cochinillas, taladros del tallo o conocido como la oruga de la mariposa, la Plusia, Gusanos de alambre y gusanos blancos. Y para quitar estas plagas que afectan a esta hermosa planta debemos crear nuestro propio insecticida el cual se hace al hervir las cascaras del cambur, luego se deja reposar hasta que este fresco y roseamos con un spray nuestra Archira, y ningún insecto las volverá dañar, pero si te preguntas. ¿Esto le hace daño a la planta?, pues te digo que no, mas bien, solo alejará a los insectos que daña las plantas de nuestro jardín.
Fun fact: If you plant during the spring and summer, Canna indica will need a lot of water.
Dato curioso: Si llegamos a sembrar durante la primavera y el verano, la Canna indica necesitará que le eches mucha agua.
This plant called Archira grows in places where there is low humidity, it also requires moderate rainfall, it should be planted in loose soils, which are rich in organic matter and provide nutrients to the Archira plant.
Esta planta llamada Archira crece en lugares donde hay poca humedad, también requiere de una lluvia moderada, debe ser sembrada en tierras sueltas, que sean ricas en materia orgánica y le aporten nutrientes a las planta de Archira.

This plant has some incredible medicinal uses such as relieving dry coughs, that is done by taking a teaspoon of the juice squeezed from the stem, and it must be fresh.
Esta planta tiene unos increíbles usos medicinales como aliviar la tos seca, eso se hace tomándose una cucharadita del jugo que se exprime del tallo, y debe ser fresco.
Another medicinal use is to put the juice of the leaves that serves as an antiseptic and healing, relieves the burning of the burn and refreshes it.
Otro uso medicinal al poner el jugo de las hojas que sirve como antiséptico y cicatrizante, alivian el ardor de la quemadura y la refrescan.

También las semillas tienen otra función y es usada en el País de Venezuela, las cuales se usan para meter en el interior de las maracas, para así tocar esas hermosas músicas llaneras del folklore de Venezuela. Mi País natal.
