Hello Nature-Lovers ^^
Exactly three months ago I announced several major changes and a new FUTURE OF THE AMAZING NATURE COMMUNITY to you ð .. The proposed changes were:
- The main account will be run from @hive-127788.
- A set of independent Moderators and Curators will be implemented.
- Moderators are assigned tasks based on weekly posts within @hive-127788 account.
- The tasks can be : 1) Contests & Challenges, 2) Nature News and 3) Curation & Compilations posts for Botany/Zoology/Geography.
- A complete and really rewarding curation scheme for AN members.
Now it is the time to proudly present to you the new and adapted Moderator and Curator Scheme that was successfully implemented, tested and proved to work excellent ð

First of all let me introduce to you the actual team of Moderator that decided to take on the effort to make this community the best possible experience for all you Nature-Lovers out there ^^ .. I am super proud that they decided to participate and they are doing an really good job ð

Moderator Tasks
CONTESTS & CHALLENGE (@adalger & @bucipuci) :
To implement some funny activities for our community members and enrich the interactive experience we set up both, a weekly Contest and Challenge. The Contest is open for all your entries about the amazing nature around you, while the Challenge features a different topic every week. You are eligible to enter both with one entry every week and thus should have to chance for a variety of funny community interaction ^^ As an incentive the three chosen winners receive Hive rewards.
Prizes to Win :
- 1st : 3 HIVE
- 2nd : 2 HIVE
- 3rd : 1 HIVE
Choosing the Winners :
The voting for the winners will be done by the whole DNA community. Therefore we created a special contest and challenge channel in the DNA Discord. Every DNA member is able to assign "voting emojis" under the entries for 24 HOURS and in the end those three with the most of them are the lucky winners.
Rules :
- POST your entry INTO the AMAZING NATURE COMMUNITY.
- CLEARLY MENTION that your post is an ENTRY for the contest/challenge.
- All pictures have to be your own original content.
- STATE IN THE TEXT why those pictures are representing YOUR AMAZING NATURE. This is an ESSENTIAL, yes ESSENTIAL !! , part of the contest/challenge.
- Drop the LINK to your post IN THE COMMENTS.
Nature News (@juangb) :
Once a week there will be a Nature News post that covers recent nature related topics and aims to bring to you some interesting knowledge about what is happening in the world. These news are always very well researched and super interesting to read and we hope that these will reach the appropriate audience out there that like to read news bulletins ð
Amazing Nature Curation (@nelinoeva & @redheadpei & @tinta-tertuang) :
Our curators are choosing up to 5 post per week within the AN community, corresponding to their assigned topic (Botany/Zoology/Geography), and are compiling them into a weekly curation report. These selected post will receive some really nice up-votes as an appreciation for their great contribution to the AN community.
Amazing Nature Up-Vote :
First of all, every single curated post will receive an 100 % upvote from the community account itself. As we are only using this scheme for 3 months this up-vote may be a little low at the moment, but the HP of the account is steadily growing and soon we will be able to give some really nice up-votes to you ð
OCD Up-Vote :
In addition, I will forward the curated posts to OCD and subsequently receive some really huge up-votes by them. They are also visible in a special #curated-posts channel in the DNA DISCORD. This is possible as the AN community was accepted into the OCD Community Incubation Program. For all of you that do not know about the OCD Community Incubation Program, here is a link to their latest post about it: OCD-Community Incubation Program. Their Incubation Program is so amazing and is helping all the communities on Hive to grow and thus to create a Hive that can fulfill the needs of all Hiveans out there. It pushes Hivean-bonding to new limits :) .. Thank you soooooo much for this OCD. This is an outstanding gift to the Hiveasphere !!!
You will always find the running announcements of the contest and challenge, the actual nature news, as well as the current curation reports pinned in the AN community feed. You will find the details in there too. But keep in mind that all the posts to the community have to keep the community rules that are explained in more detail below and that the contest/challenge entries have to additionally keep the already mentioned rules above ^^
Community Rules
Of course there are some rules to the Amazing Community and all of you should read over them properly and keep them in mind whenever you want to publish a post here. The rules are crucial to be accepted as a contest/challenge entry and also to be reviewed as a potential AN curated post.
- Only post you own original content and do not copy&paste or plagiarize !
This will be taken very serious. If we find out that you are breaking this first rule, we reserve us the right to mute you within the AN community and will also notify the other communities about it and report you to Hivewatchers for a closer look into your account. Always state the source of all of your pictures, even if they are your own. Soo, obviously the second rules is ..
- Always reference the source of pictures and texts, even if they are your own !
The aim of the Amazing Nature community is to share the Amazing Nature around you. This means that we are not a "Photography" community and we treat pictures from professional photographers the same way as those from amateur photographers that are only using mobile phone cameras. Our focus is on the descriptions of the pictures. In every post we would like to read the reason why you are showing us your pictures, your motivation, your feelings, and so on. We are here for bringing Nature-Lovers together and not for watching solely pictures ð This brings us to the third rule.
- Do not post picture without text. Add explanations that suit the AN philosophy !
The last rule is probably an obvious one, but nevertheless I will state it here once. Other than plagiarism breaking this rule will kick you out of AN directly without any further investigation or notification !
- No hate or discriminatory language of any kind or other offensive behavior !
We at Hive believe in being a proper and adult blogging platform and do not want to become like these other widespread social media platforms out there ^^
DNA - Densifying Nature-Appreciation
The Amazing Nature Community is part of the awesome DNA project (Densifying Nature-Appreciation). DNA searches for HIGH-QUALITY posts that aim to DESCRIBE and determine the BIODIVERSITY AROUND YOU with added EXPLANATIONS and INFORMATION. For these informative posts DNA offers a CURATION SERVICE using the @dna.org account. It is also a CURATION TRAIL. At the moment DNA is also the home of the #featheredfriends hosted by the lovely @melinda010100 ðĶĒ for all you great posts about our feathered friends and the #fungifriday hosted by the amazing @qwerrie ð for all your posts about fungi and mushrooms ^^ .. But we hope that more nature related communities will join and participate in this gigantic and ambitious nature project, or maybe some Hiveans start their own little project there ;)
FUNGI LOVERS COMMUNITY
All the communities have their own Moderators using the DNA-Curation service and and the whole AN Moderator Team also are set as DNA-Moderators. This external cross-community curation-service is hoped to raise awareness of the DNA project to Hiveans out there and aims to bring all the great nature-related communities together to help all the nature-loving Hiveans to bond together ^^
