The feasting in the 🌸 flowers.

I had these pictures for a minute as draft, was thinking what to write ✍🏾 in the post. On other social media, two lines would be fine and the picture would speak for themselves. But here, it takes a bit more thought. I don’t mind that and to tell the truth the thought is being created while I type.

I managed to capture a bird as it went through the cherry blossoms trying to find some insects for a meal I believe. The flowers probably attract smaller species of bees and other insects attracted to the scent. The bird is called a Brown-eared Bulbul or in Japanese, the Hiyodori. In the picture above it spotted me spotting him. You see that vexed look on his face?

In the fall, when there aren’t many insects around, these birds feed on fruits and even veggies. They are considered agricultural pests in some parts of Japan where they may invade orchards and damage crops such as cabbages and spinach. I have even seen them eating persimmon.

So not only do the humans enjoy the blossoms but these birds have a fiesta. It’s like an all you can eat buffet. For some reason these are the only birds I really see getting their grub on in the cherry trees.

But seriously, just imagine being up there amongst all those flowers 🌸 and if bugs were your thing, this would be heaven. Hope you enjoyed the pics. Fulljoy the rest of your Sunday!
