Beauty in disguise

Hello, happy new year to you all.

This is an entry for the ANC contest.

I have always heard people say "The ugly caterpillar you see today will become a beautiful butterfly tomorrow ".

I know this saying very well, I have heard it countless times. The saying is mostly used when trying to describe someone's bad condition. It means, the fact that someone isn't doing well today doesn't means they won't do better tomorrow.

I have even used it on friends that makes fun of my rough moments in life. The meaning never really sank so deep until I came across these caterpillars.

I was going to school when I first saw one. It looked like a normal worm until I saw more on a plant. What could this be I asked myself. I then took out my phone and started taking pictures.

I was angry at first when I saw how much damage they have caused on that crop. My mom is a farmer so I know just how bad it feels for pest to destroy your crops.

The owner of this crops really needs to get these creatures out of here. Because they were so much and they were destroying it very fast I murmured.

I had to google instantly what they were so that i'll know how to handle them if I ever see them near my mummy's crop.

When I googled it, I realised they were actually caterpillars that needed to feed so well to turn into a butterflies.

I love butterflies so well. Their beautiful wings makes me smile anytime I see them.

But how can this ugly little creature be what transforms into a butterfly I exclaimed!!!

I had to go back and admire the wonder of God and nature. There is no single trace of these creatures flying one day but then, they will someday.

NATURE IS INDEED AMAZING.

I felt sorry for ever wishing them ill and even planning to destroy them all. Lolz

That was when I understood that saying more than ever.

It actually takes from two to five weeks for these caterpillars to turn into a butterfly depending on the specie. And they really need to feed.

No wonder they have eaten that much.

It was also sad to not that, not all will turn into butterflies. Some might turn into moth, while others will die.

Ps: All these pictures were taken with my phone camera.
