Ozark Sky

Our family has just moved to the Ozarks. This will be our first autumn here.

Everything here is still new to us, from the plants and wildlife to the wildly ranging temperatures and humidity. Every day and every hike brings a new discovery, good or bad, and builds the knowledge and familiarity of the area for us.

I'm excited to see the fall and the changing of the leaves. Where we come from it's all pine tree green, all of the time. Beautiful in it's own right, but I'm eager to see the changing colors and experience all four seasons.

There is so much beauty here, beauty that has been brushed and skimmed over by so many. Very few people that we know could understand why we would want to move to the Ozarks. There's a stigma about living in the 'fly-over zone' of the US, especially the rural areas. The coasts and cities are where it's at for most people.

For us, though, this beauty that is so far removed from the mass cities that we've run from is everything we've been hoping for. Granted, the insects that come with it are a bit large for my taste, but that goes along with the incredible diversity of life that is found here.

I took this picture of the clouds, just hoping to get the texture to edit and play around with, and was delighted when I realized I had captured the birds flying overhead. Another #ozarklife surprise! I'm looking forward to many more, want to come along for the hike?

#photography in this post is taken by me, @madame-cyntaia, with my iPhone6, of our #aliveandthriving #ozarklife. Thanks for reading! 🦋
