Sin embargo, detrás de la creación del mural hay una historia de discriminación por parte del alcalde Paraqueima de la ciudad del Tigre- Venezuela. Cuando se presentó el argumento del alcalde Paraqueima en su programa matutino de la emisora Mariana Radio, expresnado que el mural era horroroso y aun cuando le informaron que habian sido los niños con asperger este enfatizó que lo habian "pintado con las patas".

La negativa del alcalde provocó la indignación de la sociedad , la comunidad de padres y madres de niños autistas y de los venezolanos que hicieron viral el muro pintado, que en realidad luego se supo que habia sido pintada por la artista venezolana y el apoyo de Rotary Guanipa .
