Saludos a todos y bienvenidos a mi blog. Por lo general no suelo ver historias animadas de superhéroes, solo las típicas películas que a estas alturas la mayoría de las personas conoce.

Mi forma de saber que existía esta historia fue porque un amigo me la recomendó. Cuando vi que era animación no me atrajo lo suficiente para iniciarla, pero luego encontré una imagen sangrienta de una de sus escenas y pensé que podía ser un tanto diferente.

Guiada por la intriga la empecé, y al finalizar el primer episodio quedé impactada, lo suficientemente enganchada como para continuarla y terminarla.

Por eso la publicación del día de hoy es acerca de Invencible.

Greetings everyone and welcome to my blog. I usually don't usually watch animated superhero stories, just the typical movies that by now most people are familiar with.

My way of knowing that this story existed was because a friend recommended it to me. When I saw that it was animation I wasn't attracted enough to start it, but then I found a gory image of one of its scenes and thought it might be somewhat different.

Guided by intrigue I started it, and by the end of the first episode I was shocked, hooked enough to continue and finish it.

That's why today's post is about Invincible.

Este es un cómic que tuvo su primera edición en el año 2003, bastante tiempo atrás considerando que apenas la serie animada se estrenó el año pasado en Amazon Prime Video.

El creador de esta historia es Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker y Ryan Ottley. En cuanto a la serie, cuenta con las voces de Steven Yeun como Mark Grayson, el protagonista, y la de J.K Simmons como su padre, Nolan Grayson.

Tiene 8 episodios de menos de 50 minutos de duración, esto más la historia peculiar que cuenta hace que sea muy fácil de ver en poco tiempo.

Mark Grayson tiene 17 años, y para ser hijo de un Viltrumita no tener poderes aún es inquietante. Está ansioso porque llegue el día en que esto cambie, ya que su deseo más grande es ser como su padre, el superhéroe más poderoso del planeta, que ha salvado en incontables ocasiones a la humanidad.

Sin embargo, no sabe que cuando esto cambie, su percepción de súper héroe también lo hará. Nada es tan fácil como parece, y detrás de la verdad se ocultan mentiras que acabarán con todo como lo conoce.

Mark Grayson is 17 years old, and for the son of a Viltrumite, not having powers is still unsettling. He is anxious for the day to come when this will change, as his greatest wish is to be like his father, the most powerful superhero on the planet, who has saved mankind on countless occasions.

However, he doesn't know that when this changes, his perception of himself as a superhero will also change. Nothing is as easy as it seems, and behind the truth lie lies that will end everything as he knows it.

Al principio esta serie no me pareció excepcional. El primer episodio transcurre de forma normal, de hecho es un poco complicado adaptarse por la cantidad de súper héroes que hay en una misma producción.

Creo que esto es debido a que ya estamos acostumbrados en parte a ver un solo súper héroe salvando a todos, y porque los personajes que salen acá son completamente desconocidos.

Debo reconocer que me descolocó que algunos de ellos se parecieran a personajes ya conocidos, en la apariencia o en las habilidades, sin embargo, no es el tema más importante del que tratar aquí.

Una vez que te acostumbras al ritmo de la serie, es fácil de ver, y es entonces que nos centramos en Mark Grayson, un chico que se supone debería tener poderes pero que aún no les han llegado.

De hecho, esta parte ya se me hacía conocida por verla en otra película, aunque para ser justos este cómic salió primero. Todo esto hace que el primer episodio sea entretenido de ver, pero nada más.

A excepción, claro, del final. Yo creo que este final fue diseñado para dejar con la boca abierta a más de uno, y en mi caso sí me sorprendió bastante. Ya sé que es una escena sangrienta, y que eso no logra nada por sí solo, sin embargo, hace que tu curiosidad aumente, despierta la intriga, las ganas de seguir mirando para averiguar todas las respuestas.

At the beginning this series did not seem exceptional to me. The first episode runs normally, in fact it's a bit complicated to adapt because of the amount of superheroes in the same production.

I think this is partly because we are used to seeing a single superhero saving everyone, and partly because the characters that appear here are completely unknown.

I must admit that it threw me off that some of them resembled already known characters, in appearance or in abilities, however, it is not the most important issue to deal with here.

Once you get used to the pace of the series, it's easy to watch, and that's when we focus on Mark Grayson, a guy who is supposed to have powers but they haven't come to them yet.

In fact, this part was already familiar to me from seeing it in another movie, although to be fair this comic came out first. All this makes the first episode entertaining to watch, but nothing more.

Except, of course, for the ending. I think this ending was designed to leave more than one person with their mouth open, and in my case I was quite surprised. I know it's a bloody scene, and that doesn't achieve anything on its own, however, it makes your curiosity grow, it awakens intrigue, the desire to keep watching to find out all the answers.

Así lo hice y me encontré con que estos son personajes un tanto diferente a lo que estamos acostumbrados a ver, en el sentido de que tener super poderes no los hace invulnerables a los villanos, o los salva de cometer errores garrafales.

Acá se puede apreciar lo difícil que es salvar a la humanidad, que no basta de un poco de tiempo y habilidades para que los villanos desaparezcan, a veces ni siquiera se puede ganar todas las batallas, y sobre todo, se pueden ver víctimas. Muchas víctimas.

Esto lo vuelve un poco realista. Ya sabemos que la vida de un súper héroe no es fácil como se ve, tiene que hacer sacrificios, por ejemplo, en su vida personal, y en este caso Mark Grayson más, pero que además sufra las consecuencias de no saber usar su poder, o de no reaccionar a tiempo es algo bastante interesante de ver.

Por lo general son los civiles quienes pagan con sus vidas estos errores, pero es más realista que ni siquiera un súper héroe pueda salvarlos a todos. Que tenga que ver en su día a día estas escenas fatales y vivir con ello.

Sí me hubiese gustado que profundizaran más en los sentimientos de Mark, de todos, porque todo ocurre bastante rápido, no dan el tiempo suficiente de procesar las cosas a los personajes, de llevar el peso de cada cosa como corresponde, aunque aún así no sería justo decir que no tienen desarrollo porque sí lo tuvieron.

Claro, unos personajes más que otros, pero que se enfoquen en ellos es bastante interesante. Algo que agradecí es que los personajes no fueran tontos ni ciegos, porque a veces esto irrita a los espectadores, sin embargo, aquí se dan cuenta cuando algo extraño pasa, como infidelidades y demás.

Usually it is the civilians who pay for these mistakes with their lives, but it is more realistic that not even a superhero can save them all. That he has to see these fatal scenes on a daily basis and live with it.

I would have liked them to go deeper into Mark's feelings, everyone's feelings, because everything happens pretty fast, they don't give the characters enough time to process things, to carry the weight of each thing accordingly, although it still wouldn't be fair to say that they have no development because they did.

Sure, some characters more than others, but the focus on them is quite interesting. Something I appreciated is that the characters were not dumb or blind, because sometimes this irritates the viewers, however, here they notice when something strange happens, like infidelities and so on.

Lo que sí es extraño es que no sepan la identidad de los super héroes que salvan la ciudad, porque muchos de ellos no usan antifaz, por este lado sí los consideré ciegos, aunque Evatómica asegura que es algo «psicológico».

Esta serie es una caja de sorpresas cada vez que tiene la oportunidad, no se puede confiar en nadie, y hasta quien crees que es bueno tiene motivos oscuro detrás guiando sus acciones.

Que nunca deje de sorprender es agradable, aunque otra cosa que me hubiese gustado ver es que fuera más... Sentimental, que conectara más con el público, porque como dije, solo sangre y escenas sorprendentes no son suficientes.

Creo que hubiese quedado mucho mejor si apelara a los sentimientos del espectador desde un principio y no solo a la distracción del mismo. Algo que hacen al final, con una escena conmovedora, que tiene de todo un poco. Impacto, y a la vez, sensibilidad.

Creo que esta escena dejaría con la boca abierta (sí, de nuevo) a más de uno, y con lágrimas en los ojos a otros. Siento que toda esta serie fue creada o conducida nada más para llegar a esta escena, y sí, valió la pena ser conducido hasta allí. Tan solo por estas pocas palabras, siento que es una obra de arte interesante.

I think it would have been much better if it appealed to the viewer's feelings from the beginning and not just to distract them. Something they do at the end, with a touching scene, which has a little bit of everything. Impact, and at the same time, sensitivity.

I think this scene would leave more than one person open-mouthed (yes, again), and others in tears. I feel like this whole series was created or driven just to get to this scene, and yes, it was worth being driven there. Just for these few words alone, I feel it is an interesting work of art.

Aún así, no puedo cegarme solo por eso y dejar pasar incoherencias o el hecho de que todo en la serie pareciera relleno (entretenido, eso sí) nada más hasta llegar a ese momento final.

Con incoherencias me refiero a que te preguntas muchas cosas acerca de Omni-Man, preguntas que seguramente tienen respuestas y quizá justificaciones pero que necesitan de algo de imaginación para ser contestadas porque no te lo cuentan, por lo menos no en esta temporada.

Espero que la segunda la usen para contestarnos estas cuestiones, aunque siendo sincera no creo que las respondan todas, porque siento que es una serie que está basada en lo que sucede actualmente y no en profundizar sobre ciertas cosas.

Aún así, que tengan la confianza de dejarlo pasar significa que están seguros respecto a todos esos asuntos. O que en los cómics si se tratan más estos temas.

Sin embargo, odiaría que solo dejaran escenas sangrientas e impactantes nada más para atrapar al espectador y que no tuvieran un motivo de peso detrás.

Still, I can't be blinded by that alone and let inconsistencies or the fact that everything in the series seemed like filler (entertaining, mind you) just until that final moment.

By inconsistencies I mean that you wonder a lot of things about Omni-Man, questions that surely have answers and maybe justifications but need some imagination to be answered because they don't tell you, at least not in this season.

I hope they use the second one to answer these questions, although to be honest I don't think they will answer them all, because I feel it is a series that is based on what is currently happening and not in depth about certain things.

Still, that they have the confidence to let it go means that they are confident about all those issues. Or that in the comics they do deal with these issues more.

However, I would hate it if they just left gory and shocking scenes just to grab the viewer and had no compelling reason behind them.

De igual modo vi un tanto conveniente las palabras que le dice Omni-Man a su hijo al final de la serie, la oportunidad perfecta para que este respondiera lo que respondió. Me hubiese gustado saber mucho más acerca de este personaje, la verdad.

Pese a todo esto, es una serie muy entretenida de ver, que tiene escenas impactantes, y personajes interesantes. Me gusta que Mark sea muy apegado a su padre, porque al final esto lo es todo en esta serie.

No me agradó tanto que no hubiera una transición o un desarrollo mejor para su personaje, un día es un niño inocente y al otro es un chico obstinado, de moral inquebrantable y como tiene que ser un súper héroe. Esto lo hace un poco raro de ver.

El villano es muy intimidante y te coloca en una perspectiva nueva, no solo porque se supone es un súper héroe, sino porque es el hombre más poderoso de todo el planeta y se supone que nada va a apelar a sus sentimientos, ni siquiera su propio hijo, por lo que cada vez que le vemos hay cierta tensión o intimidación en el espectador.

Hubo pequeñas cosas que no me convencieron del todo, como la animación, por ejemplo, o algunas partes de la trama, pero aún así, me agradó bastante esta serie y salir de mi zona de confort.

Sí la recomendaría para mirar de un modo relajado y sin hacerse muchas preguntas, dejarse sorprender con escenas sangrientas y encantar con todo esto en conjunto. A mí me gustó lo suficiente como para querer ver la parte siguiente que saldrá pronto.

Es un amor extraño. Sinceramente, no siento que sea una serie olvidable. Tiene algo que atrapa y que te deja queriendo ver más.

Despite all this, it is a very entertaining series to watch, which has shocking scenes, and interesting characters. I like that Mark is very attached to his father, because in the end this is everything in this series.

I wasn't so pleased that there was no transition or better development for his character, one day he's an innocent kid and the next he's a stubborn kid, with unwavering morals and how a superhero has to be. This makes him a bit weird to watch.

The villain is very intimidating and puts you in a new perspective, not only because he is supposed to be a superhero, but because he is the most powerful man on the entire planet and nothing is supposed to appeal to his feelings, not even his own son, so every time we see him there is some tension or intimidation in the viewer.

There were little things that didn't quite convince me, like the animation, for example, or some parts of the plot, but still, I quite enjoyed this series and stepping out of my comfort zone.

I would recommend it to watch in a relaxed way without asking too many questions, be surprised by the gory scenes and be enchanted by it all together. I liked it enough to want to see the next part coming out soon.

It's a strange love. Honestly, I don't feel it's a forgettable series. It has something that grabs you and leaves you wanting to see more.
