Hello friends, welcome to my blog, today I will tell you the story of Esie and her first Halloween. She had arrived just 6 months ago from a country called Venezuela, where Halloween was not celebrated. She was very excited about the parties, costumes and trick-or-treating with her new friends from her neighborhood, whom she gradually got to know at school. Esie, she was 11 years old, like her friends, they made plans to choose the costumes that she would wear each one and not all coincide with the same costume. Despite the fact that superheroes were the fashion, her friends thought of doing something different to get out of the everyday and stand out this year.
So at Robert and his sister Cindy's house, they all agreed to get together to choose what costumes they would use to go out trick-or-treating on Halloween night, Esie being the only Latina, she decided to honor one of the scariest legends in her country and She would dress up as La Llorona, when her friends asked her what that story was about, Esie replied:
Do you want to know her story?
-To which her friends responded enthusiastically and curiously: Of course, yes!

Many centuries ago a young woman fell in love with a soldier, they got married, but he died fighting in battle, she was pregnant. She had her baby, but being alone, without help, she didn't know how to take care of it, nobody knows what happened, but she died of the baby. Some say that she killed him, others that she died due to carelessness, the truth is that the desperation of her son's death caused him to kill himself. Since then she wanders at night, crying, looking for her baby. Those who hear her crying and come out to meet her, she kills them because she blames them for the disappearance of her son.
Everyone was stunned by the story and told Esie to wear that costume that night, Robert would wear a zombie costume and Cindy would dress as Lilih, one of the most powerful demons. All her costumes had been chosen for her, all that was left to do was wait for the big day to go trick-or-treating.
Halloween finally arrived and everyone with their incredible costumes went trick-or-treating, the night was going great, his friends and the houses where they played to trick-or-treat gave him many and congratulated him on his choices, they were the stars of the night in the neighborhood. Robert, seeing how successful his costume was, told the girls to go to the neighboring neighborhood to get more candy. His sister Cindy didn't like the idea nor did Esie, but Robert insisted so much that they decided to accompany him after he threatened to go alone.
To cross to the other neighborhood they had to cross a long and dark alley, when they saw it the girls wanted to go back, but Robert was determined to go, so they had no other option but to accompany him. As they walked they began to hear metallic noises, the boys' hearts stopped for a moment and they stopped walking. They looked everywhere, but saw nothing, they continued walking until they heard the cry of what seemed like a baby, this froze their blood... It was impossible for a baby to be crying in the middle of an alley, the boys thought.
With each step, what seemed like a cry came closer, the boys at this point felt and heard their hearts beat, Robert did not dare to run so as not to seem cowardly. Suddenly at his feet the lid of a garbage can falls, he didn't have time to know who ran first, but they all shot towards their neighborhood shouting like crazy "Llorona, Llorona".
The adults came out to meet them trying to calm them down, they didn't understand what was happening and they all spoke at the same time. Finally, Esie's father understood what was happening and that they were referring to the legend. He calmed them down and went to the alley that the boys were pointing to, accompanied by other parents. What they discovered was a litter of abandoned kittens, that was the cry. They were picked up and all were adopted that day. Esie had the best Halloween, full of terror and at the end of tenderness, because he has a kitten that he called "Llorona".
