A friend of mine is currently in Japan and sent me a picture of Nara Park in Nara, Japan. I live in Osaka, which has easy access to Nara, Kyoto, Kobe, and Wakayama, and my friend went to many places for sightseeing during his stay in Osaka.
I have many memories of this Nara Park. When students go to school in Osaka, their junior high school excursion is usually to Nara or Kyoto. Nowadays, there are more and more students going abroad for school excursions, but my generation went to this Nara Park.
Deer, which are said to be the guardian deities of Kasuga Taisha Shrine, located adjacent to Nara Park, are carefully protected in Nara Park and approach people without fear. You can even give the deer cookies called "deer rice crackers," which are sold in the park.
My friends who come from overseas often tell me that Nara has become their favorite sightseeing spot in Japan. Seeing the pictures from my friend made me want to go to Nara for the first time in a long time.
友人が今、日本に来ていて奈良に在る奈良公園に行ったと写真を送ってくれました。 私の住む大阪は、奈良、京都、神戸、和歌山へのアクセスが良く、友人も大阪に滞在中は色々な場所を観光に言ったようです。
この奈良公園にはたくさんの思い出があります。 大阪の学校に進学すると、中学の修学旅行は大体が奈良か京都になります。 この頃は修学旅行に海外に行くケースも増えているようですが、私の世代はこの奈良公園に行きました。
奈良公園に隣接されている、春日大社の守り神と言われている鹿は、奈良公園では大切に保護されていて、人間を恐れず近づいてきます。 公園内で販売されている、鹿煎餅と言うクッキーの様なものを鹿に与えることもできます。
この鹿との触れあいは、海外から来る友人たちにとってとても良い思い出となるようで、奈良はお気に入りの観光地になったと良く友人から聞かされました。 この友人からの写真を見て、私も久しぶりに奈良に行きたくなりました。
