What you can see in the mirror?

How many times do you look at the mirror?

That seems to be an easy question to answer for anyone. For someone that might be three, four or just when they have free time. For me, it has changed throughout my life. And the frequency increased when I was more mature. Why does it have a difference like that?

I think because I knew how to take care of myself in a good way. When you were a kid, did you worry about your ponytail being unequal or your braid was messing after a nap? I think we are both don't care and even look at the mirror after playing the whole day in the play yard. That's why I think the frequency of looking in the mirror also reflects the change in me.
Typically, I look at the mirror five times - six times a day. That will be:

  • one time after getting up
  • one time before heading to work, I think we're both the same cause no one wants to look untidy in front of colleagues.
  • one time after half-day work
  • one time before starting back to work
  • one time back to home and relax
  • before sleeping.

Wow, six times I thought that was just around 3-4 times but it's more than I thought. But that's also a big change of me from rarely look at the mirror into this. And I appreciate that cause I knew how to respect myself and others when taking care of myself.
I used to have a classmate in high school and she sit next to me, causes in my school two students will use the double table not a single one as students in western. At that moment, she looked at the mirror the whole day and keep asking me "How did she look?", "did she look okay?". Although I always told her that she looked fantastic already. At that moment I only think that she cared too much about herself. But now, I think that was good because when you caring about yourself enough, you will know how to love yourself enough. By the way, we are still best friends until now although both of us are busy and have less time to see each.

For me, I think it's fine if you look at the mirror over ten times or more. Because I believe you have the reason for that, no one can say that it's waste of time for anything. When I moved to another country a few years ago, I looked in the mirror more than usual because that was the first time I moved out alone and came to a new place like this. I looked in the mirror and encourage myself that I can do and do it well. Few first days there, I few a bit of lost direction but luckily I never give up on myself and stepped out of my comfort zone and had a wonderful year.
Therefore, look in the mirror every day not only to see how my appearance looks but also a self encourage myself when I felt tired or get a problem need to solve. Moreover, I think seeing myself better and mature every day is a great thing. It seems like a good signal of the right direction. I hope you - people who read this post will see how amazing you are in the mirror. Cause you have been so strong and brave and sure nothing can stop you to moving forward. Wish you all the best, ladies.
