Yesterday, I was in Tiburon, California.
It was cloudy, and very cold, brrrr!
The term "shark" in Spanish, tiburón, is where the city's name originates. The city's name was originally given to the peninsula on which it is located, and it was likely influenced by the abundance of regionally endemic leopard sharks in the nearby waters. With a concentration of restaurants and clothing stores, it is now a commuter and tourist town connected to San Francisco by quick ferry services.
Tiburon is known for its boating culture. In fact the San Francisco Yath Club is located right here.
When trying to describe what makes Tiburon unique, the terms scenic, bright, and dreamlike spring to mind.
There are breathtaking views of the bay, the San Francisco skyline, and other adjacent coastal regions from this lovely seaside hamlet in California
You can even catch a glimpse of the Bay Bridge, Angel Island, Alcatraz, and the San Francisco skyline on a clear day.
We ate at WayPoint Pizza and ordered family-style Shrimp Salad, and Walk the Flank, which is made of flank steak, shallots, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, red onions, romaine lettuce with a creamy garlic dressing, served on a fold-over sized pizza crust.
YUM !!!
