Dear Diary,
The clock hit 5.00 a.m. and here goes my mobile alarm. Me feeling lazy to wake up thinking of the daily routine. So switching off my mobile, I turn around for a quick 5 minute sleep. Alas! It's almost 5.30 a.m. My son will have to leave for his college around 7.30 a.m. By then, I should get his breakfast and lunchbox done.

After my morning prayer, here goes my breakfast. An easy preparation called bamboo cake or shell cake. It is made of rice flour or wheat flour mixed with salt, grated coconut and boiing water (inorder to retain its softness). It goes well with ripe banana and sugar. In another corner his lunch along with sputtered buttermilk and brown spinach (fresh from garden) is getting ready. As its almost time my son left after having his breakfast.

Today, I had a tough schedule. We have a small çoconut farm, nearby our home. Every three month once the coconuts are collected from the farm and a part of it is sold to the coconut seller. Due to continous rainfall and rough wind at times, the people staying around the farm, had the advantage of taking the fallen coconuts. Atlast, even the coconut seller came with his vehicle to collect the coconuts.

Now its already 2.00p.m. Myself and my husband enjoyed a short lunch. We did not plan to eat much, as in the evening, around 4 p.m., we are supposed to attend a funeral prayer of my neighbour, an old woman in her late 80's, who passed away a day ago. The funeral ceremony was followed by a short compulsory meal for all those who attended the rituals. I had the privilege to meet peoples whom I met a long time ago.

Though she was quiet old, she always looked happy with a smile in her face. All credits to her daughter-in-law My front gate in the garden, is facing the window of her room. She used to waive her hand on seeing me near the front gate. Though she is not related to me by any means, she was someone "special" to me.

Dear Diary, many peoples come and go into our lives, leaving behind, lots of painful memories. When the person close to us, is no more with us, I really wished I shouldn't have met rhis person.

Finally, after the rituals we are back home by 6.00 p.m. My son has returned from his college and he also had the privilege to taste the food . After a shower and regular prayer, I decided to clean my kitchen which was in a mess and to place the leftovers in the fridge.

Though the morning hours was hectic, I had the time to relax in the evening.
Dear Diary, one advantage of such ceremonies, is that we get to meet our friends after a long time. You are the only open book where we can cry when in pain and where we can laugh while being happy.

So this is a part of my daily routine, unless I get engaged in some different
activity, that comes along my way. Please note, the photoes posted in here are my own property.
