Menstrual Hygiene Day | Break all Myths and Taboos about Feminine Health!

Today, May 28th is the World Menstrual Hygiene Day. There's something interesting about choosing this date. The average menstrual cycle is 28 days, so it was chosen to make the world aware of feminine and menstrual health on this day!

You may or may not be aware of this day but as women, we all know how important this day is.

It's 2021 but still, we have different taboos and myths about female hygiene. I understand the influence of socio-cultural reasons behind it. But as long as we don't break these and come out, we can't ensure better feminine health for our future generation.

What we need to do?

You may wonder, what we can do from our side. Well, I believe we all have the power to make an impact. It doesn't have to be a huge impact all the time. Even if it's self-education or making a single person aware of this, then that's sufficient. It's better than doing nothing, right?

  • I believe make ourselves more knowledgeable about menstrual health and hygiene is the best thing we can do. I wouldn't claim I know everything. There are still many things we need to learn. Especially how we can convey the message to others about this. This is also a part of learning, isn't it?

  • Make others aware of this. Especially for those who are from underdeveloped or developing countries, there's no way to deny that we have a huge scope to teach and educate women about this topic. Women still use unhygienic products, don't know much about hygiene, ignorant about it, feel fear or shy about feminine health.

Why I came up with this post?

I know, there are many myths and taboos related to feminine health. I know, many of you have to obey those, even if you don't want to. I totally understand the cultural, social, family pressure. I know, still, there are many out there who need help. Listen, it doesn't make any of us less if we feel shy or fearful to talk about menstrual health.

This is the reason we need to talk more about this. So that if there is a single person who needs to seek help can talk freely about it. So that they can access the information they need, make available the products they need to use, and break the taboos and myths.

I believe more or less, we all know how important menstrual hygiene is, what's the relation of it with our mental health. It's time to stand on it, proactive this in our daily life, make others aware of this, and most importantly live myth and taboo-free about Menstrual Hygiene.

Big hug to all the Women out there 🤗🤗🤗
