It's my first post in this wonderful community. All thanks to @jjmusa2004 who introduced me to this community. Embarrassment is bound to happen and at some points in our lives as humans, we get embarrassed in one way or another. Unplanned circumstances happen in every human life, we just can't be careful enough, no matter how careful we are, something we never planned for does happen at any given time.
As a lady, I do mind what I wear ranging from my clothes to shoes and bags. I do a thorough check on everything before leaving home just to make sure none of it disappoints me outside. The day that serves as the most embarrassing day in my life was the day I decided to dress gorgeously to school which is unusual for me. On a Tuesday morning, I decided to go to school gorgeously dressed, putting on one of my favorite slippers with my dazzling vintage material shirt, and black jeans with a black bag to match. I just got the shirt and I decided to flaunt it to school.
I go out in my happy mood, catwalking to my department which consists of thousands of students, I couldn't think anything could go wrong with that day. As I approached my lecture room, I saw my coursemates sitting outside in different groups. At that moment nothing must go wrong because all eyes would be on such individuals and it wouldn't be a palatable scenario at all. I was walking in style minding my steps and being careful not to cause a sin but I couldn't imagine all was to no avail.
As I was about to get closer to my lecture room, I mistakenly hit my right leg on a stone, and the right slipper was removed. As I was trying to coordinate myself and walk gently to fix my slippers I didn't know what happened next. I saw myself on the floor with my left slipper damaged as well, my jeans covered with dust and my things on the floor as the handle of my bag got removed also. At that point, I felt like entering into the ground as everyone was looking at me, some came to help me up while others stood laughing and making fun of the situation. It was the most embarrassing moment of my life, my clothes were ruined and all my happiness turned sour at that moment.
I can hear people's comments that left my heart broken, it wasn't something I love remembering because I was indeed embarrassed. I heard a girl saying "I saw her walking like a queen, what fell her?" Another girl replied laughing hysterically "The land doesn't appreciate her stepping". At that moment I couldn't retaliate because I was embarrassed already and I knew what happened to me would be the talk of the class for a few days. I had to go to my friend who resides not far from the school to get a change of clothes just to attend lectures that day. I decided not to allow what happened to weigh me down, because if I looked pitied, they would continue to talk about it. The next morning, I went to school with my head up not minding what happened the day before.
