Dealing With Anxiety and Depression - LOH #181

Hello, beautiful ladies, and happy new week to us all. Interesting questions, @joanstewart well done👌

With everything happening in our society today, it's very easy for women to find themselves having these persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, irritability, changes in appetite or sleep patterns, and a loss of interest in activities.

Women go through a lot, ranging from family crises to work-related issues, hormonal imbalances, etc., which leads to these various feelings, and most times these feelings can be indicative of various mental health concerns, such as depression or anxiety disorders.

And I personally think when a woman starts feeling this way or having some symptoms related to this, it's best for her to immediately seek out help from different places, like seeking support from either a trusted friend(s), family members, or support groups, because at this point she will need all the emotional support and understanding she can get. I think that from experience and studies, it has been shown that talking about your feelings with others can provide validation in some way and also help alleviate feelings of loneliness or self-isolation.

Another way to fight these feelings is by challenging negative thoughts. I do this always, and it has really helped me a lot. I try as much as possible to replace negative thoughts with more positive, balanced, and realistic thoughts.

Stress has a way of making us feel worn out and exhausted about everything and everyone around us. So, as much as possible, I would advise ladies to limit stress in their lives. Try as much as possible to identify the sources of stress in your life and take steps to minimize or manage them. This might involve setting boundaries, delegating tasks when necessary, practicing time management, or seeking professional help for stressful situations.

I think women should always have the mindset that it's always okay to ask for help when in need, and prioritizing your mental health should be a must. I am very sure that with the right support, care, love, and treatment, overcoming the persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, and other symptoms is very much possible.
