My big dream for life #154

It's another wonderful week to share our ideas with other women in the LOH community. This is my response to one of the prompts that says, What is your big dream for your life? If money were no object and you could do with your time whatever you wished, what would you do with it? What would you create?

If money were no object, I would pursue my lifelong dream of making the world a better place through humanitarian work. Ever since I was a child, I have been deeply affected by the suffering and hardship I see around me - homelessness, poverty, preventable diseases, lack of education and opportunity. I believe that every human being deserves dignity, compassion and a chance to fulfill their potential. My big dream is to do everything in my power to create more justice, equity and human flourishing.

Specifically, I would focus my efforts on empowering children and youth. I dream on starting an international network of school, health clinics, counseling centers, mentoring programs, and vocational training institutes to give young people the knowledge, skills and support they need to create bright futures for themselves. Education has the power to break cycles of poverty, violence and despair. With the right investments early in life, so many at-risk youth can become thriving, contributive members of society. I would also establish funds to sponsor students’ university studies and start-up small businesses. My goal is to nurture the next generation of leaders, innovators, creators and change-makers.

Additionally, I would direct major resources toward global public health initiatives. I would open free medical clinics and hospitals in underserved areas, spearhead vaccination campaigns, expand access to reproductive health services, and sponsor medical missions. My aim would be to save lives by preventing and treating diseases, improving maternal health and child nutrition, and making basic health care available to all. I would also support research projects across medicine looking for cures, treatments and preventive measures. With the right policies and investments, so many unnecessary deaths and human suffering can be prevented.

On a local level, I would invest in sustainable community development projects. I would lead initiatives to build affordable housing, renovate dilapidated neighborhoods, convert abandoned factories into art spaces and small business, expand public transportation and outdoor recreation areas, and clean up environmental contamination. I want to help create vibrant communities where all residents have security, dignity and a sense of belonging.

Additionally, I would establish a grant foundation to support talented writers, designers and creatives of all types. By funding their work and training, I hope to empower them to uplift and inspire society. Creativity and self-expression are part of what make life meaningful.

Ultimately, my dream is to be like an orchestra conductor, bringing together the resources, talents and compassion of many to make the world a little more whole and harmonious. If money were no object, I would spend my time orchestrating large-scale interventions to nourish the human spirit and fulfill unmet needs. By lifting up the disadvantaged and creating beauty, my life would feel truly purposeful. This is the big dream I hold in my heart.
