LOH 125 CONTEST: MY STAND POINTS ON EUTHANASIA

Greetings from here to the beautiful ladies of Hive and big thanks to our judge of the week @tibaire for this logical questions. This topic is a very complicated dilemma with no true or wrong. For this week contest on the topic:

According to the Internet, Euthanasia is the intervention voluntarily accepted by the patient and performed by a medical professional, which accelerates the death of a terminally ill patient, with the intention of avoiding unnecessary suffering and pain. Do you agree with this way of dying, do you think it dignifies the person in his decision of how to leave, or on the contrary, do you think it should not be practiced? Could you argue your point of view

MY VIEWPOINTS
Euthanasia is a medical practice that is very complex to stand for or stand against. It is a two sided argument with no right or wrong. While some argue it is right, others say it is wrong.

For me, I believe that life is sacred and it is morally unjustified for anyone to take away the life of his fellow human. Life is precious and it is not right for any individual, be it a doctor or the patient, to decide when to breathe his last.

I know pain can be very excruciating to bear but we should remember that the Creator in the commandment says "thou shall not kill". Also, making reference to the life of Job, he went through a lot but at last, God visited him. So, I don't believe there is any illness that recovery is impossible.

I strongly believe that life is a gift and should be valued and cherished no matter whatever we are going through, be it sickness. Let's imagine one is sick and there is no money to visit the hospital. The thought of euthanasia will be the last thing. We should also avoid the thought because life is sacred.

Moreover, mercy killing could lead to life abuse and disregard to the population of the elderly, disabled, etc. The only way to encourage these people is to be kind, compassionate and show them love and care that they need even on their sick bed.

When putting legalization into consideration, it is totally wrong for countries to legalize euthanasia instead pain relief drugs can be administered to those in excruciating pains to relieve their pains. Then, in the medical field, medical doctors take an oath to respect and not harm the lives of patients, using easy killing is like doing the opposite of the oath they took and this can bring about disloyalty and untrustworthiness.

In addition to the already said, the decision whether to allow euthanasia or not is very complicated and the decision is on the patient to make. Therefore, individuals must put into consideration the moral, legal and medical consequences of euthanasia before making their decision.

In conclusion, the medical practitioners must be able to educate the individual on the dangers and consequences of taking this approach. Being a very sensitive dilemma, no one can claim to be right or say his points is the only valid points. It is good to respect whatever any person has chosen to be his or her standpoint on this issue.
