Empowering women and ending treacherous beliefs against them.

It's another beautiful week to share our ideas and opinions with other women in the LOH community. This is my response to one of the prompts that says, What is your big dream for your life? If money were no object and you could do with your time whatever you wished, what would you do with it? What would you create?

Every human has dreams, they build up in our head as we grow and we start pursuing them immediately we get to the age when we are capable of working to bring them to reality. While I was young, my dreams were different from what they are now. I made dreams based on my understanding and exposure, topping my class, going to the university, getting a good job and living happily were my dreams. That was how far I could reason and for every stage of this dream I conquered, I got a clear picture of what I want my future to look like.

As I grew, I became selfless with my dreams. It wasn't just about me or my family anymore, a lot of people started coming into the picture of my future and sometimes, I feel like would I be able to make all of these happen.

I realised earlier that it would be challenging and just have to believe in myself. I have a lot of dreams and the biggest of them is to become successful in life because that would be the foundation of all my dreams. I want the kind of success that would help me become financially capable of bringing other dreams to reality. I am a graduate and currently waiting to serve my country.

I am a baker and currently learning the scope of event planning. I don't know what the future has in store for me but I believe with hard work, success will be mine. A lot of things are attached to me becoming successful and I pray nothing evil comes between me and my dreams.

If money isn't a problem, one thing I would love to do is empower women and end some treacherous beliefs about women.

I have friends in the North and whenever they share some things with me, I feel really devastated. Thanks to civilization because if not for it, women would have remained baby machines. A lot of things have changed in the world and it's a good thing that women are thriving out there.

As inspiring as it is to see women thriving, it hurts to see some struggling with cultural and traditional problems. Early marriage, no access to education, they can't speak in their homes or even their community just because they think their job is just to make babies and do chores. Civilization is far from a lot of places and helping women trapped in those parts will be a dream come through for me.

Women are capable of bringing something relevant to the table, we are mentally and physically capable of not just contributing to our homes but to the nation as well. This is no rivalry against men and helping many women realise their worth in the society is something I intend to push for when the foundation of my dreams is fulfilled.

As a successful woman, I can begin with these things in my tiniest way and as long as it yields results, I will be more than fulfilled.
