We will be having another Silver league match. I want to show a Gold match but I can't seem to break through the Silver 1 gate. The Quora match up happens too much and I don't have a very reliable team build for it.

Thaddius Brood is a rare summoner from Chaos Legion. They aren't really strong or have any benefit and requires a good amount of cards to level up.

Abilities

-1 Max Health. Reduce opponent's Max Health by 1 with a minimum of 1. It has the same effect as Weaken ability.

Since magic damage passes through armor, this acts like an automatic damage for them. Reducing the opponent's max health means it's easier for magic damage monsters to kill them.

-1 Magic Damage. Reduce opponent's magic damage by 1 with a minimum of 1. It has the same effect as Silence ability.

Having Wands Out rules of combat, this is an effective way to reduce the opponent's overall damage.

Death Elemental may be low in stats but his abilities are really strong. He also has a low mana cost so you can fit him in almost any Death Splinter build.

Abilities

At level 1, Snipe is unlocked. Snipe changes the targeting priority to opponent's non-melee monster that is not on 1st position.

It is a strong ability that allows you to kill opponent's annoying support monsters immediately. Monsters that have Tank Heal, Protect and other support abilities are normally non-melee and Snipe can be a reliable ability to take care of them.

Summoner: Thaddius Brood: Can reduce opponent's magic damage which is very strong at Wands Out rules of combat. The reduced max health of opponents are also compatible since magic damage bypasses the opponent's armor.

1. Djinn Miurat: His Void Armor ability can allow his armor to block magic damage increasing his survivability against magic damage users.
2. Revealer: 4 mana cost monster with 2 magic damage and Stun. Death Splinters lacks magic damage so that 2 magic damage is really strong in Death Splinter.
3. Venari Bonesmith: Has 1 magic damage but also has Life Leech to get extra health and poison ability to inflict 2 damage to opponent every start of their turn, once they are affected.
4. Death Elemental: Has Snipe and Silence ability. The Silence ability is really important especially in Wands Out rules of combat as it reduces the opponent's magic damage.
5. Insidious Warlock: Has Recharge ability. Recharge attacks every other turn but multiplies the damage by 3. It allows him to produce 3 damage every 2 rounds.
6. Magi Necrosi: Has 3 damage, Snipe and Camouflage ability. The abilities are not really important in Wands Out rules of combat but the 3 damage is pretty strong.

ᗪIᗪ YOᑌᖇ ᔕTᖇᗩTEGY ᗯOᖇKEᗪ?

Yes. Normally, it's just by chance that you can affect the opponent by reducing their damage. Since there's three official damage types in the game, you have 30% chance to get it right. However, since Wands Out forces the players to use only magic damage, then having a monster with Silence ability is a strong strategy.

With Thaddius Brood and Death Elemental, I can reduce the opponent's magic damage by 2 effectively reducing their overall firepower.

ᗯᕼᗩT ᗯIᒪᒪ YOᑌ TᖇY ᗪIᖴᖴEᖇEᑎTᒪY ᑎE᙭T TIᗰE?

I am not sure which monster you can remove since I really like this lineup but you can add an Ancient Lich to increase your defense. Starting at level 2, Ancient Lich unlocks Void ability. Void halves all magic damage that he receives. Ancient Lich also has magic damage so he can be used in Wands Out Rules of Combat.

With Ancient Lich on the board and the current strategy, most of your opponent's monsters will have 1 damage. At 1 magic damage, the Void ability negates the damage and change it to 0. This means your Ancient Lich would not get any magic damage at all.

Thaddius Brood x Death Elemental in Wands Out Rules of Combat

? 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒓 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒕?

Yes. Thaddius Brood is really strong when combined with and against magic damage types. Especially in Wands Out rules of combat where your opponent is forced to use magic damage, the -1 magic damage is strong enough, let alone two.

I really like to call Death Elemental as Mini Thaddius Brood. If you think about it, they both have the same abilities. Death Elemental can reduce an opponent's magic damage starting level 4. He can reduce an opponent's max health starting at level 8. What can Thaddius Brood do? Yes, reduce opponent's max health and magic damage. Good coincidence, right?
