Possibilus is a strong summoner if used correctly. Demented Shark is an underrated card probably because it's an old card. However, since the release of Chaos Legion, Water melees became a viable strategy, that's why I bought a Demented Shark a few months back. This combo can be used in a lot of other combos and very flexible if you use a lot of melee monsters.

Possibilus the Wise

With the goal of combining and completing the lost sacred rune tablets across time and space shattered by an entity known as Desolation, Possibilus traveled to the past in order to fulfill his mission and defeat Desolation.

When he first got to the Splinterlands, he was attacked by Chaos Legion forces which destroyed his portal in the process. Some people helped him in his time of need and he replied to assist them with the condition of assisting him in the search for the said lost tablets hoping to restore another portal and save his race.

Demented Shark

Sharks is Splinterlands is very different than the ones in our world. At the Outer Ocean, Sharks recklessly throw themselves to smash in their preys regardless of size or how dangerous it is.

In addition to that, the favorite preys of these sharks cannot exactly be simply called a prey. The Edgefish, one of their favorite foods, have scales as sharp as blades of steel. Another is the genus Coelomomyces, an aquatic fungi whose main survival is to leave spores on the predator's brain. After a several weeks, these spores will grow to a tree-like fungus which affects the target's brain. This is how Demented Sharks are born.

The Splinterland's Coelomomyces kind of reminds me of a real world fungus called Ophiocordyceps unilateralis. They normally spread on ants which feeds on the ant's brain. Before the ant dies, these Ophiocordyceps control the ants to climb on the highest plant they can find and stay until the ant gets drained of their health. Thee Ophiocordyceps slowly form into a tiny plant which explodes its pollen to infect other ants in the surrounding.

If you want to learn more, you can do your own research on Google. Simply type, "Zombie Ants." And you will get the information I am talking about.

The cheapest level 1 right now is $16 which while is not as expensive than others, still good to have on your back pocket.

The level 1 can be rented pretty cheaply for less than 2 DEC per day. However, if you want a level 2, this might jump from 10 to 30 DEC depending on the supply. It's cheaper to rent out at the start of the season than mid to late.

When Possibilus was first released, I immediately bought a level 1 of Demented Shark for those, "Just in case," situations. The level 1 provides you with the Inspire ability already so I don't think the level 2 and higher is necessary. However, having increased damage is always helpful especially his Inspire ability increases his own damage.

You can rent one for 0.10 DEC per day. I suggest renting these regardless if you're planning to use it or not. It's always a good thing to have some cards that boosts your damage.

Possibilus is a legendary summoner. Level 1 legendaries can bring the maximum level cap for bronze. I'm using a level 2 which allows me to use the maximum cap for Silver league.

Abilities

I categorize Summoner Abilities in 2 types, inherent and non-inherent abilities. Inherent summoner abilities gives all of your monsters with that ability. Non-inherent summoner abilities does not give monsters extra abilities but is used by your summoner itself to the monsters on the board.

+2 Health. Possibilus gives all of my monsters extra 2 max health.

Trample.png

Trample (Inherent). Possibilus gives all of my monsters the Trample ability. If a monster with Trample ability kills an opponent, it would make another attack on the next monster.

Reach.png

Reach (Inherent). Reach allows my melee monsters in second position to make an attack.

Demented Shark is a decent monster but a weak front line unless he's at least level 6. I never put him in the 1st position unless I have no choice. He's a great secondary monster due to Possibilus's Reach ability as he can attack while being on the second position..

Abilities

Inspire.png

At level 1, Inspire is unlocked. Inspire increases all of your melee monster's damage by 1.

Thorns.png

At level 6, Thorns is unlocked. Thorns deals 2 damage to any melee monster that attack him. I really like putting Thorns monster in front and back of my team if they're able to attack.

Monsters with Sneak ability or those that prioritizes last position monster in their attacks is normally melee monsters so Thorns are very strong in countering those.

Not a lot. As you can see, while it's good for the monster in second position, it's not as useful for other monsters unless they have an ability to attack from anywhere and if they have the ability to do that, Reach will be useless. I do like Possibilus with the Kraken build because it increases the health which increases the healing done by my Tank Heals, however, on a build that doesn't utilize a Taunt monster, this card is not as good.

Fortunately, yes. My line up was atrocious in this. I would say that I'm probably tired when I played this but the latter half of my team was useless. The double inspire though worked like wonder. However, I was just lucky that my opponent's line up is way worse than mine as he has clogged second, to fourth monster meaning these monsters doesn't have the capability of attacking. Mine is bad as well because my Sand Worm and Disintegrator cannot attack but fortunately, his is worse.

Disintegrator and Sand Worm. For Disintegrator, I shouldn't have used it because Fire element is banned. Fire element is what I consider the melee team because of Tarsa. Disintegrator counters this element essentially which is already banned so no use for this card. Sand Worm is unusable because of Fog of War which removes all Sneak and Snipe abilities. Sand Worm has Sneak and this was disabled during this match. I would've been better with any melee worth 16 mana total but I misplayed here.

Any melee monster that can attack from behind, say Feasting Seaweed and its Opportunity is good or even rearranging Sand Worm or Disintegrator in front of Deeplurker is better in case some of the front monster dies.
