This is a modified version of my opponent's strategy. I once got destroyed by this concept on one of my battles, so, I used the same idea and reaping rewards from it.

The combination of Lorna Shine's Divine Shield and Truthseeker's Protect ability ensures that your back row withstand the damage while you kill their opponent's back row.

Lore Summary Banner.gif

Lorna Shine is a wanderer from the White Plains of Khymeria. She's always on the go whether it's visiting acquaintances or attending celebrations. Her skin doesn't darken regardless of how long she spends being outside. Known for her bright, shining red hair, and a giant sheathed sword on her back, she's a havoc to mess in the battlefield.

Truthseekers are the most mysterious priests in Khymian. They can speak all language and are able to speak to angels in the Angel realm.

An interesting part on the lore is it said, Truthseekers can call down smiting light from heaven which is uncontrollable and destructive. However, in Truthseeker's stats, they have no capability of damaging an opponent nor have any abilities that can interfere with the opponent's side.
This makes me think that Truthseeker's lore were unrelated, just flavor text or just made for the sake of having a lore. Those are just my theory, a Splinterlands theory.

The cheapest for a level 1 Lorna Shine is $7.50. It's a bit expensive for a Rare summoner but this is because it's from Dice series which is a phased out card pack. The only way to buy this card is to buy packs or cards from players.

Renting Lorna Shine is more affordable. However, the level 2 may or may not be expensive depending on the rental supply. Right now, you can rent one for 9:63 DEC per day however there was a time I rented a 35 DEC per day Lorna Shine because I have no choice.

Truthseeker came from Untamed Series which is also phased out. That's the reason why it's a bit pricey than normal for a rare card.

Truthseeker's rental price is also more costly. I don't know why but it is. I don't bother renting because it won't give you any advantages. You normally place Truthseeker in the middle to protect it from both side. Therefore, it's unnecessary unless you're going to use the max level, which unlocks Tank Heal ability for that extra survivability.

At first, I thought Lorna Shine was weak. I mean, I didn't understand how strong Divine Shield is until someone used it against me. The only downside of Divine Shield is it will break regardless of the damage to the monster. The Divine Shield blocks one instance of damage to the monster, regardless of damage.

Abilities

Divine Shield.png

Lorna Shine gives Divine Shield ability to all monsters you control. Divine shield blocks one instance of damage to the monster.

Truthseeker's stats is very low to the point that she even have no damage despite having low health. But this is balanced by Truthseeker's low mana cost and jam-packed supporting abilities.

Having both Armor and Divine Shield on your monsters mean that your opponent needs at least 3 attacks to inflict damage for each of your monster. The first attack breaks the Divine shield, second attack may break the armor, and once the armor is broken, the third attack is the only one that will inflict damage to the monster.

Abilities

Protect.png

At level 1, Protect is unlocked. Gives all of your monsters extra 2 armor as long as this monster is alive on the board. This gives a good protection to your monsters againt sneaks, opportunities, snipes and the like.

Cleanse.png

At level 5, Cleanse is unlocked. At the start of the Truthseeker's turn, the monster in the first position is cleared of any negative status inflicted to it. Some examples of these are poisoned, demoralized, Affliction, etc.

Tank Heal.png

At level 8 Tank Heal is unlocked. Tank Heal allows you to heal a percentage of the health of the monster on the first position at the start of the Truthseeker's turn. The formula for Tank Heal is maximum health, divided by 3, rounded down.

𝑫𝒐 π’šπ’π’– π’π’Šπ’Œπ’† Lorna Shine and Truthseeker? π‘Ύπ’‰π’š 𝒐𝒓 π‘Ύπ’‰π’š 𝒏𝒐𝒕?

Yes. It's a very good mini-core that you can add in almost any Life build. However, this is also not fool-proof. This has a glaring weakness which is magic damage. If magic damage is focused on the front, the Divine Shield will immediately break and Protect also doesn't help as magic damage passes through armor.

It's a race against you kill the back line first, or the mages kill your front line.

Summoner: Lorna Shine : A low mana cost summoner that gives Divine Shield ability to all of your monsters capable of blocking one instance of damage.

  1. Xenith Monk : A level 2 Xenith Monk also has Heal ability. Heal ability restores a third of his health at the start of his turn, rounded down.

  2. Stitch Leech : A 3 mana cost monster with Sneak. Sneak allows Stitch Leech to target the last position monster for attacks.

  3. Truthseeker : Has Protect ability giving 2 armor to all of your monsters as long as she is alive on the board.

  4. Venari Crystalsmith : Has Tank Heal ability capable of restoring a third of the max health of the monster on the first position at the start of Venari Crystalsmith's turn.

  5. Celestial Harpy : A 2 cost unit with Flying ability that increases his evasion and Opportunity ability that allows him to attack from any position.

  6. Uraeus : A 3 mana cost unit with Sneak that allows him to target the last position monster for attacks. A level 2 Uraeus has 2 damage instead of 1.

α—ͺIα—ͺ YOα‘Œα–‡ α”•Tα–‡α—©TEGY α—―Oα–‡KEα—ͺ?

Yes. It wasn't as effective because of the magic damage but still, worked as it should be. This is more effective against team composition with multiple angles of attack than one focused on the front.

α—―α•Όα—©T α—―Iα’ͺα’ͺ YOα‘Œ Tα–‡Y α—ͺIα–΄α–΄Eα–‡Eα‘ŽTα’ͺY α‘ŽEα™T TIα—°E?

I actually adapted this to my Life build. Instead of adding Truthseeker, I uses monsters with built in armor and can attack from the back row. One good example is Uraeus. This makes him a good Sneak blocker. Add another one and you have a solid back defense.
