Ladies Of Hive Community Contest; #119

Another interesting contest for the week and as always, I’m very excited about it. This week’s questions by @brittandjosie put a very big smile on my face. I’m not about to tell you what went down the last time I went out of my comfort zone. It wasn’t pretty and I can’t bring myself to share. Hehe. However, I can totally tell you about all, there is to know about my beauty routine.

Looking and feeling beautiful is good business. Someone once said, “your look is your portfolio to the world,” and I believe them.

2️⃣ What is your beauty routine? show us the steps,
and the pictures of your routine, and explain it all.

My beauty routine entails looking and feeling good at all times.

I start with a hot cup of green tea or other herbal tea like mint and cinnamon every morning. I do this to detoxify myself from the inside. I’m a firm believer that a huge part of how you look on the outside comes from what’s going on inside of you. A good diet does that for you. Add to its immense health benefits like antioxidants and lots more, It also helps me relax and be ready for the day ahead.

First, I wash my face with Cerave foaming cleanser. I cleanse twice a day. I fell in love with it the very first time I tried it. It leaves my skin feeling silky smooth after every wash. Then I lock in that smoothness with toner from purest solutions. I love this toner because it is a BHA that contains salicylic acid. This serves my textured skin very well by clearing acne and it is a great oil controller.

At least twice a week, I exfoliate with azelaic and malic acid powder.

After using my toner, I apply the serum. I use vitamin C and hydrating serum during the daytime, then niacinamide and arbutin at night on different days. I never apply them together in the same routine. Vitamin C is a game changer when it comes to brightening and clearing the face. My hydrating serum contains hyaluronic acid. This keeps my face hydrated and plump at all times. Niacinamide and arbutin act by clearing acne, reducing pores, and evening out the pigment on the skin.

After my serum comes moisturizer and sunscreen. In my opinion, this is the most important aspect of it all. Adding all that glory to your skin without moisturizing and sun protection is like sweeping the desert. It is never going to be rid of the sand.

For my body, I love this Q10 moisturizer by Nivea. The way my skin absorbs and retains moisture is refreshing. It also feels long-lasting.

For my hair, I prefer to shampoo and condition it with árgan oil. I always get away with doing the least for my hair. I love to think of my hair as low maintenance. Most times I have it in protective styles like braids and cornrows. And oh, ever since I learned the head massage, it’s been epic. I’ve been doing it to rid myself of headaches but I’ve found that it’s beneficial for my hair growth. That’s a double win for me.

I've adopted several simple body stretches and acupressure as part of my daily routine. The way I think and feel afterward is incredible. Then I put a smile on my face and my day begins with me feeling like God's favorite child.
