Ladies of Hive - What would you go without

Say no more to this post, because this was the easiest ever for me to give an answer to. What am I talking about? The Ladies of HIVE question of the week ofcourse. If you aren't familiar with these girls (especially you new girls, this community may really just be some place to make you feel at home as every single soul here is so friendly.

But back to the question of the week, the choice was from these two badboys:

1️⃣ Would you rather go without water or electricity for a week?

Or

2️⃣ Which fictional character would you like to meet and why?

I didn't need to think long on this one....

I went for the first question and with a reason which will seem familiar to anyone who was in an area of natural disaster before. Well, maybe if you live in an area where water from the creeks is potable this might seem different, but in general...water is you main issue when everything is failing.

I am thinking back to 2017 in hurricane Irma in the island of Sint Martin. Everything was broken and nothing was working anymore. Water was the issue as the biggest water factory which takes salt sea water and turns it into drinking water, wasn't working anymore. Also the 11 reserve water basins had 7 of the destroyed which turned drinking water into a problem all of a sudden.

Water is a situation. If not to drink then also to clean with. And I mean yourself and everything around you before bugfest actually gets in.

The amound of buckets that we carried from the sea into the house to put in the toilet and then flush the toilet with salt water...that were some nice walks :D (it really doesnt work to flush with the bucket, putting it into the toilet and further on is way better)

But also when you are salty and you don't have fresh water to wash yourself with but only salt water, the skin really doesn't like it.

Electricity was so much of a smaller problem than I had thought for. Ofcourse connection was really nice to let everyone around the world know what was going on and that you are safe, but that you really needed it...That is a different thing I suppose. You need it for some quality in your life, but way less more for surival. That is a different story!

Water is the true friend here, but as said...I guess this might be very different when you live in the arctic circle and need heat to survive and to melt your snow...
