My Stereotypical Lion Hustler

The prompt made work for the whole day of yesterday. Although I have had a concept in mind before I went to bed on Saturday night, the execution was quite challenging. In the morning, I asked the husband's thoughts of a hustler lion in a stereotypical activity and attire. He answered me with a question instead to which I let him know of what I had in mind, a lion on his pajama, with two screens on his computer table, food on the sides and what else. That is a hustler to me. He added something cool, let him have eyeglasses and wearing an underwear.

So that's how he stereotype a Lion hustler, LOL

I believe each of us has a different interpretation of of the word hustler and there's no right or wrong, yeah? My initial thought was a table with a laptop and a desktop overlooking a park. And it started like this which I shared on my thread yesterday morning. I thought of incorporating the husband's ideas.

The next step was to add the lion and some things on the screen. My model for the head was from Shuttershock (thanks to the owner of the photo).

This is how it looked when I added colors and made it wear an eyeglass. I was frantic when I thought my work was lost when the page froze after I used the "Vector Fill" feature. I want it to look like it was night time, hence the dark background.

I didn't know how else to proceed with the above sketch as the position of the lion limits it. I took a break to gather my thoughts and on coming back to my desk, I decided to create a new one but carried the lion's head for it took me hours to finish it so it's not going to waste. This time, a lion on his tanks and shorts, still with a headset.

The husband came in around 2 in the afternoon and reminded me to add a cup (coffee) on the table. He caught me pulling my hair after I lost my sketch when I was almost done with the lion's legs and paws😭 The thing is that I disabled the autosaving feature on the application because it saves like every few seconds and freezes the app while doing so. Anyway, I had some patience left so went on to it again.

Then it was time to fill the sketches with colors, first with the lion's shirt. Initially colored it with black then changed my mind. The chair got the black shade, similar to what I'm sitting at.

After all the coloring, I added the Leodex photo on the desktop screen. The story goes that the lion is on a coffee break and is monitoring LEO prize, listening to some cool tunes and making threads on his tablet. And guess I want to interpret that a lion appreciates greens too, hence the plant by the corner because why not, right? lol!

Did some final retouching and edits in between while typing this and here's the finished project which took me only a day to have it done, lol!

Happy new week everyone!
PS. I'm at the hospital on nurse duty specially for mom.
