We advocate for equal rights between the men and women every now and then, but to be honest and not biased it is not entirely achievable especially in this part of the world, Africa. But we still have ways of educating and sensitizing women on the need to speak up and face their fears especially when the patriarchal dominance is in effect. Being a woman doesn't mean she should be relegated to the background or trampled upon, or ignore or forsaken or dismissed, rather being a women should come with the perks of goodness because of the burdens we carry.

From childhood, we are expected to start carrying out duties to set the future right, we were constantly been reminded of the fact that most of the home duties rest on your shoulders. We deal with taking care of the physical aspects of the home from dishes, cooking, laundry, ironing, cleaning, care for children and also the other aspect that has to do with period wahala, childbirth, stress from house chores, sexual satisfaction, hormonal changes, medical situations like fibroid, pcos, endometriosis, bartholins cysts, yeast infections and so on.

It's a women supporting women's world, although some people can be heartless. In this contemporary world, we have seen women rise up and taken up the adavange of social media to air their opinions and predicaments. For instance, I can bodly say that I defend the women's right even though not in large public gatherings, but once a while on whatsapp, Twitter, Instagram, use tiktok to pass messages in videos and so on.

Just like the movie 'citation' where a professor tried to rape his student and tried to become the victim thereby making the lady, the guilty party. All modes of justice were incorporated and the NGO that fights for women's right took up the case and won. Female Students formed an alliance against harassment of women on campus. Many student have carryover and cannot graduate because they refuse to comply with sadistic lecturers who want sexual pleasures.

Truly, another angle where women suffer is the aspect of being poor. That's why, in my church there is a sort of donation every 3months to support women who cannot take care of themselves, especially widows. Widows are been neglected and maltreated especially the ones in rural areas who are farmers and dependent on their husband's.

In all, no woman can say she has not been a victim of either child abuse, sexual harassment, unemployment, domestic violence, gender discrimination and all sorts. The best part is have you ever stepped in to support your fellow woman in such circumstances. From experience, one time at the market, a man was emotionally abusing his wife and I love the way an elderly women approached him and spoke sense to him, it was a good thing to experience that day. Yes, there is physical abuse and emotional abuse, some people thing it's only when you get beaten you can be broken, NO. Emotional abuse is worse, imagine body shaming a plus size person till she commits suicide.

Standing up for what is right is the vest way to go. Support in whatever way, it could be by telling your own story to set an example. I am a fan of motivational stories.
