Superwoman.[LOH Contest] #125.

Sighing deeply, Anita smiled in anticipation. She had everything calculated in her mind, but she knew that wasn’t enough. She needs to act fast in getting ready before he returns. The thought of seeing him warmed her heart as she turned the car left to her home.

Packing her car in the car space, Anita got off the car in a rush and opened the boot to take out the things she bought. It took her exactly five minutes to get everything into the house. Patting herself, she smiled heartily as she beat up the time she calculated which was seven minutes. Closing her car's boot, she dashed back inside to shower before starting the work that had brought her home.

Being a mother of two, Jason and Jasmine, Anita was also a fashion designer and a loving wife to her husband Raymond. It was her husband's birthday and she had left work earlier to prepare some homemade delicacies for him. Just the way he loves them made.

After some hours of cooking and baking, her children came home from school and she welcomed them with smiles even when she was tired from working. The children seeing the tired look on their mother's face hugged her tightly and planted a kiss on her forehead. Anita knew she didn’t need to tell the children what to do when they came back from school. She had trained them well and they have always stuck to their training even though they were only six years old. Yeah, they are twins.

The children walked into their separate rooms to shower and do their homework before coming down to eat. After eating, they helped their Mum with the decoration they met her doing which hastened the work. An hour later, they ended the decorations and were satisfied with the outcome. Smiling sheepishly to one another they high five each other before they decided to take a shower before the arrival of the celebrant.

Not long after, Raymond came into the glamorous decorations and warm-hearted smiles of his family. Raymond is an engineer and the day had been hectic for him. He had almost forgotten his birthday If not for the glamorous decoration and the heavenly smell of garnished food that filled his nostrils. Smiling heartily, he hugged his children and kissed his wife passionately. He was all smiles and had the feeling of a fulfilled man.

After the kisses and singing that came afterward, Raymond excused himself to shower before joining his family to eat the special delicacy his woman made. There were lots of talks and chats after the meal. The food was sumptuous as usual and they couldn’t stop eating even when their stomachs screamed for mercy.

The children were put up to sleep after the singing and dancing that came afterward. The home was filled with high-choking happiness and Raymond couldn’t be more grateful. He hugged his wife once more as they both retire to bed but not without visiting heaven ( haha, if you know what I mean) before sleep overtook them.

The next day came faster than expected as the sun that seeped in found its way on Anita's skin jerking her from dreamland. Jolting from sleep, she turned to look at the clock and she gasped loudly, it was past eight. “oh, Lord she woke up late”. She muttered to herself. Turning to her side of the bed to wake her husband, she found out his side of the bed was empty. Why didn’t he wake her up? She asked the empty air that surrounded her. Standing up, she decided to check up on the kids.

She quietly walked out of the room listening carefully to see if she would hear a shuffling sound but everywhere was quiet. Too quiet if she were to add. She sighed deeply as she turned to open her children's room silently hoping their father would have taken them to school. Opening her children’s room, she noticed they weren’t there. With a smile, she turned around to walk toward the kitchen but she stopped in her track. Standing in the sitting room was her husband in a shirt and polo and her children in uniform holding a placard that says;

“To an amazing woman, the perfect Mum, the overall special-made wife, an incredible Sister, and a loving friend. Happy International Women’s Day.”

Seeing the words written on the placard, Anita touched her heart. She must have sworn her heart skipped a beat a million times. Walking toward her family, she hugged her children and planted a kiss on their foreheads. Turning to her husband, she kissed him wholeheartedly. Before her husband left home to drop off the kids at school, he gave her a wrapped-up box. Sitting down, Anita calmly unwraps the gift given to her to see a note, a dress, a shoe, and a silhouette of her. The letter read;
