The tools that I need to Flourish my Dreem

Last week When I wrote about my Dreem for creating a haven for ladies with compromised mental wellbeing I stated that At the moment I am nowhere to begin with.

To begin the journey there is a need to have the clarity of the tools you need. No matter how creative ideas you might have, you can start sewing without a needle. That’s why I contemplated on what those tools would be that I need to acquire in order to bring my Dreem to life.

I have been confined to the four walls of the house as a housewife and a stay at home mother. (I am not underestimating the worth and importance of these duties, however,) the Dreem I have demands me to be on field. Without an experience of the things operating in the outside world, it is not possible to create something in that world.

There are a lot of areas I need to gain the experience of. I need to understand how Non-government/Non-profit/ Welfare organization operate. There is a need of understanding the structure and functioning of a mental care organization. For understanding the legal issues, strategic planning, social hindrances, technology and data management, board and governance issues, etc. there is ultimate need to acquire experience. So, the first tool that I am in a need of is the experience in the field of mental health and organization management.

After acquiring the experience , I am sure I would be somewhere to start digging for my Dreem. At this point, the greatest need I feel of is nothing but money.

Money is needed for each single step in the process: to acquire a building, to hire professionals, to get certifications, to provide facilities to the dwellers in the haven, for marketing, to raise awareness, you name it. So, money is the second tool that would open pathways for the journey.

Organizations can be created by an individuals but running them effectively is not an individual activity. A teem is required to run errands smoothly.

So the third tool that I need in the process is a competent teem. A teem that is dedicated to the cause and holds the vision I have. A teem that is collaborative and innovative. A teem that is resilient and have the perseverance in the face of challenges.

In conclusion the three tools that I need to keep my Dreem alive are experience, money and a competent teem.

The journey is long, I know, but as they say, “Every journey begins with a single step.” May God give me the courage and strength to begin the journey.
