Happy beginning of the week to all those beautiful women in the world and especially to all those who make life in this community, I had a long time without passing by here, but the affection for this community remains intact and I could not resist to participate with this interesting question that I found here, so here I come to share how much or little I know about:
Feliz comienzo de semana para todas esas mujeres bellas del mundo y en especial para todas las que hacen vida en esta comunidad, tenía mucho sin pasar por acá, pero el cariño hacia esta comunidad continúa intacto y no pude resistirme a participar con esta pregunta tan interesante que he encontrado aquí, así que por acá vengo a compartir lo mucho o poco que conozco de:
Every country has different laws for women, some are very advanced but others have a difficult structure for obtaining justice in cases of gender-based violence. In any case, all women should know the system in their country. In the hypothetical or real case that you are a victim or you have to help a victim of gender violence, do you know what to do? Where to go in that specific city to seek help or file a complaint? Do you know what the procedure is? The idea is to help any woman who needs that knowledge.It is a sensitive topic but if you have any experience you want to share with other women you are free to do so// Cada país tiene leyes diferentes para las mujeres, algunas son muy avanzadas pero otras tienen una estructura difícil para obtener justicia en casos de violencia de género. En cualquier caso, todas las mujeres deberían conocer el sistema en su país. En el caso hipotético o real de que seas víctima o debas ayudar a una víctima de violencia de género, ¿sabes qué hacer? ¿Adónde ir en esa ciudad específica para buscar ayuda o presentar una denuncia? ¿Sabes cuál es el procedimiento? La idea es ayudar a cualquier mujer que necesite ese conocimiento. Es un tema delicado pero si tienes alguna experiencia que quieras compartir con otras mujeres eres libre de hacerlo
For those who do not know and maybe reading me for the first time, I am Venezuelan and here in my beautiful Caribbean country, since 2007 there is a law whose name is: Organic Law on the Right of Women to a Life Free of Violence, this law has helped to make in many cases the difference in terms of gender violence.
Now, I want to point out or emphasize something very important and that is the main action to take and that is to become aware that we are victims of abuse, whether verbal, psychological or physical or perhaps all three, and that only by acting or making the appropriate complaint we can begin to walk a path that will help us out of this situation, or perhaps also away from that person, unless it is a harasser and then we must take action to protect life.
Para quienes no lo sepan y tal vez me lean por primera vez, soy venezolana y aquí en mi bello país caribeño, desde el año 2007 existe una ley cuyo nombre es: Ley Orgánica sobre el Derecho de las Mujeres a una Vida Libre de Violencia, esta ley ha ayudado a marcar en muchos casos la diferencia en cuanto a la violencia de género.
Ahora bien, quiero señalar o hacer énfasis en algo muy importante y que es la principal acción a realizar y es el tomar conciencia de que estamos siendo víctimas de maltrato, ya sea verbal, psicológico o físico o tal vez los tres, y que solo actuando o realizando la denuncia pertinente podremos comenzar a recorrer un camino que nos ayude a salir de esta situación, o tal vez también alejándonos de esa persona, a menos que sea un hostigador y allí hay que tomar acciones en pro de proteger la vida.
So in my country, an affected woman can go to various places to make the appropriate complaint among them are:
- The Public Prosecutor's Office (Fiscalia).
- Police agencies.
- The Division of Protection of Children and Adolescents, Women and Family of the Criminal and Criminalistic Investigations Corps, among others.
It means then, that a woman victim of violence, can go to any of these sites and make the relevant complaint, to begin the process by which measures could be taken to remove the alleged aggressor from the home in which they cohabit, but this is where it largely fails, since it is not just a matter of making a complaint and forget about it, Depending on each case, it will be necessary to carry out various procedures or even complaints to strengthen the case, such as going to the forensic medicine where it will be evidenced if there is indeed physical violence, as well as attending each of the instances or agencies where we are indicated, as they are necessary actions to move forward in the case.
Así en mi país, una mujer afectada, puede dirigirse a diversos lugares para realizar la denuncia pertinente entre ellos están:
- El Ministerio Público (Fiscalia)
- Órganos de policía.
- División de Protección en Materia de Niña, Niño o Adolescente, Mujer y Familia del Cuerpo de Investigaciones Penales y Criminalísticas, entre otros
Significa entonces, que una mujer víctima de violencia, puede ir a cualquiera de estos sitios y formular la denuncia pertinente, para comenzar el proceso mediante el cual se podrían tomar las medidas para retirar al supuesto agresor del hogar en el que cohabitan, pero aquí es donde en gran parte se falla, ya que no se trata sólo de formular una denuncia y olvidarse del asunto, ya que dependiendo de cada caso se tendrán que realizar diversas diligencias o incluso denuncias, para fortalecer el caso como por ejemplo ir a la medicatura forense donde se evidenciara si efectivamente hay violencia física, así como asistir a cada uno de las instancias u organismos a donde se nos indique, ya que son acciones necesarias para poder avanzar en el caso.
To illustrate a little, in my particular case, I was subjected to verbal and psychological abuse by a partner I had and although I knew that this treatment was neither adequate nor healthy, I insisted on continuing the relationship out of fear, for comfort, for not wanting to be alone and so many excuses that one invents and therefore I emphasize, as women the first step is to recognize that something is happening and then take action to end such abuse, There may be a thousand laws that protect us but if we do not act to put an end to such a harmful situation, this abuse will not only continue to increase, and could end in a tragedy, in my particular case, I did not make a complaint, but I ended the relationship and I have never again allowed abuse of any kind in my relationships, because there is something very true that I learned in that situation, people do with you what you allow them to do with you.
Para ilustrar un poco, en mi caso muy particular, fui objeto de maltrato verbal y psicológico por parte de una pareja que tuve y aunque sabía que ese trato no era ni el adecuado, ni algo sano, me empeñe en continuar con la relación por temor, por comodidad, por no querer estar sola y tantas excusas que uno se inventa y por ello hago énfasis, en como mujeres el primer paso es reconocer que algo está pasando y luego tomar las acciones para que dicho maltrato termine, ya que pueden existir mil leyes que nos amparan pero si no actuamos para darle fin a una situación tan dañina, este maltrato no solo continuará aumentara, y podría terminar en una tragedia, en mi caso muy particular, yo no realice una denuncia, pero termine la relación y nunca mas he permito maltrato de ningún tipo en mis relaciones, ya que hay algo muy cierto que aprendí en esa situación, las personas hacen con uno lo que uno permite.
Se que en algunos países las mujeres prácticamente no tienen derechos y son tratadas con objetos, incluso desde la juventud son presentadas como objetos sexuales o mercancía al casarlas a muy temprana edad, sin olvidar de que también en otros son sometidas a prácticas terribles como la mutilación genital conocida como ablación, por solo mencionar algunas de las cosas a las que somos expuestas las mujeres alrededor del mundo, yo desde aquí admiro, respeto y considero profundamente a todas esas mujeres que viven tan duras situaciones a diario, muchas veces sin poder expresar sus opiniones por los diversas circunstancias que las rodean, sean políticas y/o religiosas.
To conclude, if you are in Venezuela, here is a small idea of how to act legally, but I insist and repeat that the first thing is to accept that we are in a situation of abuse and that can bring unpleasant consequences for our integrity and even for our safety, thus culminates my participation in the Contest #99 of the Ladies of Hive community, beautiful women (also men) who read me feel free to leave me your impressions and opinions in the comments box.
