In this content, I will share with you my first abroad travel. I went to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in 2022. I stayed there for a week. I can say it was the best travel of my life. At the beginning of 2022, I had prepared my one-year target list. One of my dreams was to make my first trip abroad this year. One month after I posted my list on my blog EnergyTime I achieved my dream :)

Bu içerikte size ilk yurtdışı gezimi paylaşacağım. 2022 yılında Kongo Demokratik Cumhuriyeti'ne gittim. Orada bir hafta kaldım. Hayatımın en güzel gezisi olduğunu söyleyebilirim. 2022 yılının başında bir yıllık hedef listemi hazırlamıştım. Hedeflerimden biri de bu yıl ilk yurtdışı gezimi yapmak üzerindeydi. Listemi blog sayfamda EnergyTime yayımladıktan bir ay sonra hedefimi gerçekleştirdim :)
It is a great pleasure for me to participate in the second contest of Trliste (@trliste ). I wanted to add my favorite travel photos to the content of the competition. The photos are in no particular order. I tried to photograph every moment I saw in Congo. And I want to share these beautiful moments with you.
Trliste'nin (@trliste ) ikinci yarışmasına katılmak büyük bir zevk benim için. Yarışma içeriğine de en keyif aldığım gezi fotoğraflarımı eklemek istedim. Fotoğrafların belli bir sıralaması yok. Kongo'da her gördüğüm anın fotoğrafını çekmeye çalıştım. Her gördüğüm şey yeni bir tecrübeydi benim için. Ve bu güzel anları sizinle paylaşmak istiyorum.
There are direct flights from Istanbul Airport to Kinshasa, the capital of Congo. I went to Kinshasa with my relatives for both business and travel purposes. We were 7 people in total. Our flight took 7 hours.
İstanbul Havalimanı'ndan Kongo'nun başkenti Kinşasa'ya direkt uçuş var. Kinşasa'ya hem iş hem gezi amacıyla akrabalarımla birlikte gittim. Toplamda 7 kişiydik. Uçuşumuz 7 saat sürdü.
I love the tropical fruits of Congo. It was very tasty. I had the opportunity to eat many fruits that I did not eat in Turkey. We couldn't eat it because we didn't think it was suitable for Islamic methods. Instead, we tried to consume fruit and fish. I ate a lot of fruit, especially for breakfast. I missed the cheese. I can say that there was no cheese in the breakfast of the hotel.
Kongo'nun tropikal meyvelerine bayıldım. Çok lezzetliydi. Türkiye'de yemediğim birçok meyveyi orada yeme fırsatım oldu. İslami usullere uygun olduğunu düşünmediğimiz için yemek yiyemedik. Bunun yerine meyve ve balık tüketmeye çalıştık. Özellikle kahvaltıda bol bol meyve yedim. Oradayken en çok özlediğim şey peynirdi. Otelin kahvaltısında peynir yoktu diyebilirim.
This is the my hotel. The most famous place in Kinshasa is the Congo River. The country we are going to is the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Just across the river is the country of Congo. The name of the river that separates these two countries is the Congo River.
Burası da otelimin manzarası. Kinşasa'nın en ünlü yeri Kongo Nehri. Bizim gittiğimiz ülke Demokratik Kongo Cumhuriyeti (DRC). Nehrin hemen karşısında ise Kongo ülkesi var. Bu iki ülkeyi ayıran nehrin adı ise Kongo Nehri.
There are few 5-star hotels in Kinshasa. Although there are many precious mineral in the country, I can still say that it is among the underdeveloped countries. The exploitation of European countries hindered the development of the Congo economy. The population of the country is close to 100 million, and the population of the capital is about 15 million. While 20 percent of the country's population is very rich, the rest is poor. There is almost no middle class in the country. The country's economy is open to development.
Kinşasa'da 5 yıldızlı otel sayısı az. Ülkede birçok değerli maden bulunmasına rağmen hala az gelişmiş ülkeler arasında diyebilirim. Avrupa ülkelerinin sömürüsü Kongo ekonomisinin gelişmesine engel olmuş. Ülkenin nüfusu 100 milyona yakın, başkentin nüfusu ise yaklaşık 15 milyon. Ülke nüfusunun yüzde 20'si çok zenginken kalan kısmı ise fakir. Ülkede neredeyse orta kesim yok. Ülke ekonomisi gelişime açık.
We took nuts with us on our way to Congo, just in case. In the evenings, we gathered in the lobby and ate our nuts while chatting :) I did not neglect to take pictures from the elevator mirror every time I went down to the lobby.
Kongo'ya giderken her ihtimale karşı yanımıza kuruyemiş aldık. Akşamları lobide toplanıp sohbet eşliğinde kuruyemişlerimizden yedik :) Her lobiye indiğimde asansör aynasından fotoğraf çekmeyi de ihmal etmedim.
The businessman accompanying us in Congo hosted us with these cars. We visited some places in Congo with these cars. We could not walk the streets of Congo on foot. The streets were very crowded. I was able to take street photos while driving around with these cars.
Kongo'da bize eşlik eden iş adamı bu arabalarla bizi ağırladı. Kongo'da ziyaret ettiğimiz mekanlara bu arabalarla gittik. Kongo sokaklarında yaya dolaşamadık. Sokaklar çok kalabalıktı. Sokak fotoğraflarını da bu arabalarla gezerken çekebildim.
There are two seasons in Congo. One is the summer season and the other is the rainy season. We went to Congo in the summer, but the weather was always cloudy. I don't remember seeing the sun clearly :) I have seen a lot of motorcycles on the street and these motorcycles are used as taxis.
Kongo'da iki mevsim yaşanıyor. Biri yaz mevsimi diğeri yağmur mevsimi. Biz yaz mevsiminde Kongo'ya gittik ancak hava hep bulutlu gibiydi. Güneşi net bir şekilde gördüğümü hatırlamıyorum :) Sokakta çok fazla motorsiklet gördüm ve bu motosikletler taksi olarak kullanılıyor.
Another thing I like the most in Congo are women. Congolese women are both fit and well-groomed. Women's clothes are colorful. They shone like a sun in those dusty streets.
Kongo'da en çok beğendiğim bir diğer şey de kadınlar. Kongo kadınları hem formda hem de çok bakımlılar. Kadınların kıyafetleri rengarenk. O tozlu sokaklarda bir güneş gibi parlıyorlardı.
In Congo, the variety of food not good. We found a Lebanese restaurant that conforms to Islamic ways. We ate fried chicken and potatoes at that restaurant. While all Congolese at the table preferred cola, we drank fresh pineapple juice.
Kongo'da bizim yiyebileceğimiz yemek çeşidi azdı. İslami usullere uygun Lübnanlı bir lokanta bulduk. O lokantada kızarmış tavuk ve patates yedik. Masada bulunan Kongo'luların hepsi içecek olarak kola tercih ederken biz taze ananas suyu içtik.
Before ending my content, I would like to thank the valuable @trliste team for organizing this contest. Thanks to this competition, I remembered my travel to Congo again. I want to go to Congo again at the first opportunity.
