I hope you have had a good start to the week. Today I am going to talk about the houses in our village that are about to collapse and are barely standing. These houses, whose pictures I am sharing, were built at least seventy to eighty years ago under difficult conditions and now no one lives in most of them. It doesn't look like a place to live in anyway. Many of the owners have passed away. Some houses are counting the days to say goodbye to this world like their owners.

Umarım haftaya güzel bir başlangıç yapmışsınızdır. Bugün köyümüzde yer alan, yıkılmaya yüz tutmuş, zorlukla ayakta duran evlerden bahsedeceğim. Resimlerini paylaştığım bu evler en az yetmiş- seksen yıl önce zorlu şartlar altında inşa edilmiş ve şuan birçoğunda kimse yaşamıyor. Zaten yaşanılacak gibi de durmuyor. Birçok evin sahibi de vefat etmiş durumda. Bazı evler sahipleri gibi bu dünyaya veda etmek için gün sayıyor.
Very simple materials were used to build the houses.
According to the information I got from my father, animals were used to supply the materials for the house. For example, donkeys and mules were used to carry the poles and trees of the house. Since there were limited opportunities in the old times, earth and stone were used for the exterior of the houses. What I am most curious about is how people reacted when they saw the building materials used today. And how long did it take to build a house like this?

Babamdan edindiğim bilgilere göre evin malzemeleri tedarik edilirken hayvanlardan yardım alınmış. Örneğin evin direklerini, ağaçlarını taşımak için eşeklerden, katırlardan yardım alınmış. Eski dönemlerde imkanlar kısıtlı olduğu için evlerin dış kısmında tamamen toprak ve taş kullanılmış. En çok merak ettiğim husus ise, insanlar günümüzde kullanılan yapı malzemelerini görünce acaba nasıl bir tepki verdiler? Bide bu şekilde bir evin yapımı ne kadar sürdü?
Imagine pulling a load with a donkey for just one wooden pole of a house. How many can you pull in a day or how many days can you pull the amount needed for the house? When I ask myself these questions, I congratulate the people living in the past. They have accomplished a great, not a big, but a very big work. There is also the stone, the soil. The soil can be taken care of somehow, but finding and transporting suitable stones does not seem really easy. Now that I think about it, if I try to build such a house, I think I cannot finish it in four or five years. That's why I respect our grandfathers.

In the past years, a decision was taken to demolish some houses for security reasons. However, some people did not want to allow this and there were arguments. Who would want to demolish their house that they have so many memories and built with difficulty.
However, we need to approach the issue realistically. These houses will collapse in a small earthquake and damage other houses around them. As a result, many houses were demolished along with their memories. The houses I shared will probably be demolished soon.
Geçtiğimiz yıllarda alınan bir kararla güvenlik nedeniyle bazı evlerin yıkılma kararı alındı. Ancak bazı insanlar buna müsaade etmek istemedi ve tartışmalar yaşandı. Onca anılarının olduğu, güçlükle yaptırdığı evini kim yıktırmak ister ki..

My grandfather's house
One of the houses I share belongs to my grandfather. He is alive but no one has lived in the house for about ten years. Although the exterior of the house looks intact, some parts of the interior have collapsed.
I would like to talk a little bit about the interior of the houses. The houses usually consist of 2-3 rooms but they are quite spacious.
The lower parts of the houses are used as stables. As you can see, although the houses are built in a simple way, they have a comprehensive structure.
Paylaştığım evlerden birisi de dedeme ait. Kendisi hayatta ancak yaklaşık on yıldır evde kimse yaşamıyor. Evin dış kısmı sağlam görünse de iç kısmında bazı noktalar yıkılmış durumda.
Biraz da evlerin iç kısmından bahsetmek istiyorum. Evler genellikle 2-3 odadan oluşuyor ancak oldukça geniş.
Evlerin alt kısımları ise ahır olarak kullanılıyor. Gördüğünüz gibi evler basit şekilde inşa edilmiş olsa da kapsamlı bir yapıya sahip.
Some of these are being demolished and replaced by new houses and this change has been going on for a long time. The village does not look the same now as it did fifteen years ago. Maybe in ten years it will be very different.
