I have a large number of old records. Really large. Definitely more than your average bear. Thousands. Literally. Most of them are from record labels that many people are familiar with: Victor, Decca, Columbia, and so forth. Some, however, are not, and are just really interesting.
Case in point: Homokord, or Homocord, when translated from German to English. This is what I know about this label:
Founded in 1904 by the German Gramophone Company, which was itself a subsidiary of the British company His Master's Voice (HMV).
Very popular in Germany, but not so much elsewhere.
Homokord had recordings from one of my favourite violists, Fritz Kreisler. Sadly, I do not have any of these.
The company was discontinued in 1932, and is not related to any of the later companies with a similar name.
This particular record is in German. Curious as to what the title was all about I ran it through a Google translate:
So... that was interesting. Not entirely sure if the picture translate worked I went straight to Google translate and got this:
So. Yeah.
