Sharing with you today how I hunt banana hearts/blossoms. From the other content I made, it was posted on the @foodiesbeehive community and it was made for our food and today I'm posting this to show you how I did it for my pet pigs but before showing you how it's done let me give you a quick tour in the little forest and together let's hunt the hearts!

This type of banana is called Saba or Cardaba it is only the particular banana that we gather for food because of its pleasant taste than other types of bananas.
This is some type of banana that we don't use because of its bitter and rubbery texture. We locally called it stampingko.
While roaming around I was also amazed at this "Nipa hut" every time I passed here, with its simple style house and surrounded by many beautiful flowering plants and fruit trees I can't resist my gladness.
As I go on with my hunting I also bumped into this wild papaya tree that has many fruits on it and of course, I don't resist skipping its tasty fruit so I grab it for free.
At that time I gathered enough so I decided to go home since it's started to dark and took some shots in this corn-filled before leaving.
I headed home after and counted my banana hearts/blossoms.
I also took a photo with the sunset
and later that night I stew those blossoms for tomorrows pigs food.
this photo was taken last preparation I did include this just to show how I prepared it before stewing.
This is how it looks like we mix 1/2 half part of the regular feeds and 1/2 part of the stewed banana hearts/blossoms and it's ready to serve. We make it this way so can save a little bit for feeds and in the same way, we can feed our pet with some veggies too and also its not just banana blossoms but also we use a different type of veggies depending on what's available.
That is how I used banana hearts for my pig's food. Normally we gather them every other day. Sometimes they are several but sometimes you can find less due to a lot of locals are looking for them also.
