ecoTrain Question of The Week — Have you ever witness a miracle?

According to the English dictionary, a miracle is a wonderful event occuring in the physical world attributed to supernatural powers. A fortunate outcome that prevails despite overwhelming odds against it.

Yes I am a product of miracles. It has happened to me, my siblings, friends and neighbors. Miracles happen everyday around us. The gift of life alone is a miracle. But here, I will be discussing the two miracles that amazed me the most. One happened to me during birth and the other to my siblings and I.

I am a product of miracles, as I said earlier. My dad is a fortunate man blessed with five (with I, making it six) male children with two female children. People felt my dad wasn't worth the favour, as most of them mainly had female children. So when my mum was pregnant with me, many people came openly against it. Some even swore not to be alive to see mum give birth to me.

The threat was too much that my mum was so scared as the pregnancy approached the eight month. My mum gave birth to all her seven children seamlessly without going to the hospital. But mine was looking to be a different case as so many signs were obviously pointing to that direction. There was a night that my mum had a dream of where she was being beaten by my dad. In the dream, my dad's goal was to make her lose the baby, as he was targeting her stomach, but thanks to my mum's dad (my grandfather) who came to her rescue. My mum woke up that night and was bleeding.

In the ninth month when the pregnancy was due, my mum was in labour for about two days. This was happening in the village where you would have to journey for more than twelve hours to get to the hospital. According to the narrative, my dad was already preparing to take her to the hospital on the third day, when she miraculously gave birth to me. It was a shock to many. Their plan was to make sure my mum dies in the process but my God has a bigger and better plan for me. This alone is enough to believe in miracles.

The second miracle that amazed me the most happened to my siblings in December 2018. My brother recently bought his car, and decided to bring it home for my parents to bless. This was the first car of the family. We — myself, two of my brothers, my sister and my uncle, decided to travel home in the car, with my uncle being the driver.

We left very early in order to get home on time, as journeying from Lagos to Enugu State normally takes more than 12 hours. The journey was going well not until they got to Lagos—Benin expressway. My uncle fell asleep for a second, on opening his eyes, the car was already directed towards the bush. On trying to control the car, it somersaulted more than three times, all we did during this period was shout the blood of Jesus. The car stopped few metres from a pit. But the five of us came out of the car — through the help of those that witnessed the accident, without any scratch.

When we came out, the people that saw the accident happen were so amazed that nothing happened to any of us.

There's a common saying in my place that he that's surrounded by enemies always lives a cautious life. with care. And that's why sleeping and waking up to the light a new day is enough miracle for me

Thanks for coming around — St. Filipz.
